In Spa Selections, Saratoga on-site correspondent Joseph Aiello provides picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, today including the New York Stallion Series Stakes!

Race 5 – OC 80000n3x

  1. #2 Pawleys Express (2-1) Really wide open race with small field which may warrant covering all, but this mare gets a slight edge over competition
  2. #3 Swing and Sway (6-1) Three-for-three at the distance and has been solid when running six furlongs and under
  3. #4 True Romance (8-1) Summer House has been better this year, but if this Timothy Hills trainee breaks first, he can win race

Race 6 – Alw 75000n1x

  1. #2 Munchkin Money (3-1) If Driven By Speed and Amazing Anne provide the speed, this filly should win at the wire
  2. #7 Pinchbeck (5-1) Can also take advantage of hot pace battle but needs more forwardly placed trip than Munchkin Money
  3. #10 Driven by Speed (7-2) Amazing Anne actually has jockey-trainer combo with higher percentage, but Velazquez and Pletcher can’t be ignored with three-year-olds this year

Race 8 – New York Stallion Series Stakes

  1. #6 Lover’s Key (5-2) In better form than Lady Joan right now, winning four of last five
  2. #4 Lady Joan (2-1) Gets plus from experience with jockey Luis Saez, and beat Lover’s Key last race
  3. #2 She’s Dreamin (6-1) A little more upside than Paz the Bourbon, and Manny Franco has won three of six this year for trainer Thomas Bush
