Experts’ Arlington Million Day picks

We asked our experts to handicap the three graded stakes topping Colonial Downs’s August 12 race card.

The card, of course, features the Grade 2 Secretariat for three-year-olds and the first two Grade 1 races ever run at Colonial: the Arlington Million and the Beverly D.

All three of the graded races formerly were contested at Arlington Park and moved to Colonial by corporate parent Churchill Downs Inc. once it decided to close the Chicagoland track. The Beverly D., with a field of five after scratches, is a “win and you’re in” event providing entry to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
