All quiet in NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll

With Breeders’ Cup nearly upon us, it was all quiet in the latest NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll, which was released Monday.

Anne Arundel County Stakes winner Miss J McKay, a Maryland-bred, is headed to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, her trainer said.

Maryland Million winners Saratoga Bob (Classic), My Sistersledge (Ladies), and Lewisfield (Sprint) top the event nominations.

The 2019 Joe Kelly Unsung Hero Award will be given to Heather Cellinesi as part of the Maryland MIllion festivities later this month.

Trainer Vinnie Blengs, whose key career milestones included three graded stakes in Maryland and the Maryland Million Classic, passed away at age 90.
