Parx Racing has a 10-race card on tap for this Tuesday afternoon. Post time for the opener is 12:55 p.m., and we’ve got Parx picks.

How’d we do last Tuesday at Parx?

RACE NUMBERCONTENDERSCOMMENTS
Race 94-7-5-1Big effort last time out to graduate by #4 Rock On Luke (7-2), who sped to the early lead and drew away in hand to win by six; one of two to run back won their follow-up. In truth, though, it wasn’t a huge surprise — this one has has done nothing but run good races in his brief career and has shown the ability to run well on the lead or stalking the pace… #7 Septimius Severus (6-1) was a middling second last time out versus state-breds, but trainer Joe Taylor has quite a record bringing horses back on short rest (1-7 days): 29% on a large sample size with an ROI of $2.37… The one-race experiment with blinkers was something of a dud for #5 Steadytillready (8-1), so trainer Jose Camejo peels ’em off; this one was second and third in two allowance tries at DEL prior to trying blinks…
Race 1010-2-9-5Last time out #10 Be Present (9-2) was game in defeat, pressing outside a fast pace and staying on to the end, and three back, she was a good second behind Miss Marissa, who then won an allowance at Saratoga and, on Saturday, won the G2 Black-Eyed Susan… Good effort to score last time out in state-bred company by #2 Capital Q (3-1), who was part of the speed vanguard and stayed on; that race has produced a next-out winner from three to run back… Feeling like #9 Ebo Special (6-1) can take a step forward today in just the second start of her three-year-old season. She was well-beaten last out by Capital Q but gets blinks on today and has the right to move forward… #5 Arima (6-1) should appreciate getting back to sprinting after a pair of mediocre efforts around two turns…
