Replay: Saturday’s Off to the Races Radio
Off to the Races Radio, powered by The Racing Biz returned April 6 at 10:00 a.m. The one-hour radio show, which is presented by the Virginia Equine Alliance, returns for its 26th season.
The program focuses on Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Virginia, around the Mid-Atlantic, and across the country and will air each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on ESPN Richmond (106.1 FM) and via livestreaming. Starting in late March, the show will air simultaneously on ESPN Harrisonburg (106.9 FM and 1360 AM). And during the summer race meet at Colonial Downs, the program will expand to two hours.
The show will run through November 2.
The program combines tips and advice on betting horse racing, news from the sport, and interviews and conversations with major racing newsmakers.
On April 6 hosts Nick Hahn and Frank Vespe welcomed in Ken McPeek, Seth Merrow, Ron Turcotte, Darrell Wood and more. McPeek will send out Lat Long in Saturday’s Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes, one of three major Kentucky Derby preps on the day. Merrow will help us to handicap one of the others, the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct. We will also air the second half of our interview with Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte. Wood will join the show to discuss all things Virginia, including the kickoff of the Shenandoah Downs season.
