In Spa Selections, Saratoga on-site correspondent Joseph Aiello provides picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, today including the Bolton Landing Stakes!

Race 3 – Alw 95000n$y

  1. #5 Muqtaser (5-2) Only one to win at distance and on this track for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin
  2. #3 Fire Away (2-1) Seems to like this distance, but doesn’t run his strongest at the Spa
  3. #1A Street Fashion (8-5) Both parts of entry look solid, but this gelding by Street Sense has run in the last two years

Race 7 – OC 62500n2x

  1. #1 Commend (4-5) Four-year-old ridgling for trainer Mott is dropping out of a Grade II and has leading jockey Jose Ortiz
  2. #7 Zoot Suit (4-1) If he gets the right fractions, this gelding can steal race with a forward placement
  3. #6 End Play (9-2) Other half of entry will probably come in the money, but this four year old colt could try and take front of track away from Zoot Suit and Uncle Youdge

Race 9 – Bolton Landing Stakes

  1. #3 Sly Beauty (3-1) Filly ran against colts in last race and won by four lengths
  2. #5 March X Press (8-1) First Pletcher entry can win from back if pace battle takes over race
  3. #6 Sugar Queen (4-1) Other Pletcher filly has no turf experience, but gets edge over Susan Cooney trainee Madame X. based on trainer’s dominance with two year olds
