RACE 4
4. Straight to Water | The early pace could be lively in this contest, and this one will be running at the end; has caught tough rivals, including undefeated million-dollar yearling Verifire and stakes-placed New King |
6. Runaldo | He wins on best but has disappointed at 1-5 and 1-2 in last couple, so it may be worth looking around a bit until he demonstrates he’s back on form |
1. Powered by Love | Might be speed of the speed and leaves from the inside |
RACE 5
5. Melancia | Makes first trip to CT after facing better at LRL and AQU |
6. Slow No Mo | Lightly raced sort switches into Keller barn (7-for-33 first after the switch) |
1. Ready for Magic | No answers for 1-5 Wynsome Cat in latest but well clear of the rest in what was first visit to CT |
RACE 6
3. King Kontie | Snapped 10-race losing streak in latest, which included six seconds, and we’re hoping the light’s back on; should be on the engine |
7. Wildhunch | First visit to CT, first in Contreras barn, and first in four months; if he can carry best earlier form, he wins |
4. Time to Rock | Morning line fave has had gate issues in three consecutive starts, which is deadly in these dashes; must get away cleanly |
RACE 7 – Sylvia Bishop Memorial Stakes
6. Zip Start | Pretty good try last out when facing older and chasing nearly-$300k earner Maggie’s Girl; Bocachica lands here among three Runco runners; makes third start of cycle |
1. Over the Bull | Turned good trip into sharp score in latest, easily besting today’s morning line second choice Summon the Glam; form can be a bit in and out, but better efforts figure |
2. Our Street Angel | Good-looking win last out in a heat that’s produced two next out winners |
RACE 8
10. Juba Marches On | Finds bottom level for first time and stretches back to winning distance |
