In Spa Selections, Saratoga correspondent Joseph Aiello provides Saratoga picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, including all of the exciting stakes action!

1. #1 La Mehana (3-1) – Has hit the board in every try at this distance with a strong win last time out and keeps Prat in the irons from that try
2. #2 No Show Jammy Jo (9-2) – Has versatility from a trip perspective but does her best running from mid pack or off the lead and has some good recent class
3. #6 Bellezza (5-2) – Ran against She Feels Pretty last time out in a grade I and should be better here by sitting a bit further off the lead to get the distance
4. #5 Long Ago (4-1) – Runs her best on the lead, taking a slight step up in class here and clearly prefers the turf to other surfaces
Race 8 – Clm 35000n2L
1. #9 Shesinamood (6-1) – The lone mount for Bridgmohan on the day, this filly has been working well and should be better at sprint distance as she drops in class
2. #3 Alpine Giant (2-1) – First time lasix showed massive improvement in her second try in a maiden win, now entering claiming company where she has a leg up on the rest
3. #5 Speed of Sound (3-1) – Won in her lone try over an artificial surface, now coming off an over year long layoff and can win with a return to form
4. #8 Proud Mary (6-1) – Might not be the likeliest winner, but does drop in class and typically runs on late so could hit the board here
Race 9 – OC 50000n1x
1. #1 Reddington (3-1) – Won here last year and ran against tougher competition last time so should improve here plus should be on or near the lead
2. #6 Warrior Richard (2-1) – Has plenty of experience and should be cutting back to a distance he prefers plus drops in class for Joe Sharp who is starting the meet strong
3. #5 Gamblers Tail (6-1) – Likely finishing from mid pack with Irad Ortiz and despite some inconsistency, this one drops in class and should improve here
4. #2 Cut the Cord (9-2) – Adds blinkers and figures to be aggressive with Carmouche in the irons with some good efforts over this track including two wins
Race 10 – MC 100000
1. #6 Free Spin (10-1) – Drops from a higher level maiden where he ran on two only lose by three and a quarter, and clearly prefers turf to dirt
2. #5 Atomic Age (4-1) – First time lasix who ran well in defeat last time for Chad Brown but hasn’t run since October and needs a top effort to win
3. #1 Ennis Town (8-1) – Has shown clear improvement upon switching to turf for his last two but may still need another step forward to be a winner
4. #11 Antietam (6-1) – Switches to turf for the first time and drops from open maidens with first time lasix but breaks from a tough post off a long layoff
