Delaware Park picks and analysis: August 7, 2025
Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:
- RACES ON CARD: 9
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:30 p.m.
RACE 1
7. Lil Sebastian | Easy winner two back and finds an easier group than latest, which has produced a pair of next-out winners |
8. Skinny Joey | Ought to be able to control this up front |
6. Crabcakes N Beer | Disappointingly even effort at 9-5 in latest but switches into a Carrasco barn having a terrific meet; half-brother Crabs N Beer on the card later |
RACE 2
8. Bollo de Crema | Cooked in a speed duel in latest but may control this one up front; has flashed the most talent |
2. Amorica | Drops to lowest level yet and should be running at the end |
3. Wild Girl | Even outing in latest |
RACE 3
1. Missy Boss | Makes first start in a year, which is obviously a knock; work tab isn’t bad for a barn that doesn’t tend to ask for much in the morning, and note that rider Ortiz picks this one over the barn’s other runner |
4. Ribbonsinherhair | Likely to be a strong favorite and wouldn’t be a surprise, but the latest was not good in first in four months; not sure how low we’re willing to go odds-wise |
7. Judith’s Cross | Speedy sort has won two of three and stretched out nicely in latest |

RACE 4
3. Rose Room | Half-sister to multiple graded winner Pixelate makes career bow; trainer Stidham has a 26% strike rate with firsters for Godolphin |
2. Autonome | Solid try in a sparse field on debut, gets added ground here |
5. Thula | Half-sis to turf stakes winners Dataman and Aida is by top sire Into Mischief; more often than not trainer Motion’s youngsters better second time out |
RACE 5
5. Beautiful Blome | Improved form since being dropped into claiming company and should sit a good trip behind a couple speeds |
4. Mad for Maddy | Winner of latest repeated; should be one-two in the early going |
3. Meg’s Foxy Grey | Though both wins have come sprinting, her two-turn form fits here |

RACE 6

12. Smithwick’s Spice | Won this event a year ago and should be tough if drawing in |
7. Tall Order | Draw a line through latest when repeatedly steadied in the early going; two back ran well behind multiple stakes winner Fierce and Strong |
1. Crabs N Beer | Blinkers back on for a runner whose best would put him right there |
RACE 8
2. Spikezone | Galloped in latest versus similar; ultra-consistent sort could be speed of the speed but doesn’t necessarily need the lead |
3. Paradise Valley | Late-running sort has plenty of class and might get a good trip |
6. Golden Candy | Delaware lover (8 wins over the strip) arrives off three straight wins |
RACE 9
8. Living Water | Ran huge last out, throwing down sharp fractions and staying on to the end even as others in the early mix dropped away; drawn outside other speed |
6. Practical Coach | Only one start since January a concern but likely to get a good trip; has faced better and new trainer Pino moves back up the ladder despite the break |
2. Play Harder | Abrupt drop to lower level a bit of a concern |
