VIDEO: Mystik Dan arrives at Pimlico for Preakness 149

Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan arrived at Pimlico Race Course Sunday afternoon a little after 4 o’clock. The arrival of the Derby winner was a bright spot on a mostly gray and occasionally rainy day in Baltimore.

Looking none the worse for wear, the Goldencents colt was led off the van and went immediately to stall number 40 in the Pimlico stakes barn, the traditional Preakness week home of the Derby champ. Mystik Dan quickly settled in in his home away from home.

Mystik Dan, a winner three times in seven career starts, was the first Preakness horse on the grounds.

The field also began to take clearer shape Sunday. Post positions will be drawn Monday evening, and the field is expected to include nine runners, including top contenders like Mooth, for trainer Bob Baffert and Catching Freedom, who was fourth in the Kentucky Derby for trainer Brad Cox.
