Replay: Saturday’s Off to the Races Radio

Off to the Races Radio, powered by The Racing Biz returned March 30 at 10:00 a.m. The one-hour radio show, which is presented by the Virginia Equine Alliance, returns for its 26th season.

The program focuses on Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Virginia, around the Mid-Atlantic, and across the country and will air each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on ESPN Richmond (106.1 FM) and via livestreaming. Starting in late March, the show will air simultaneously on ESPN Harrisonburg (106.9 FM and 1360 AM). And during the summer race meet at Colonial Downs, the program will expand to two hours.

The show will run through November 2.

The program combines tips and advice on betting horse racing, news from the sport, and interviews and conversations with major racing newsmakers.

On March 30 hosts Nick Hahn and Frank Vespe welcomed in Ron Turcotte, David Longinotti, Darrell Wood, John Piassek, and more. Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte is most famous for piloting Secretariat to Triple Crown glory in 1973. Longinotti is the former general manager at Oaklawn Park, which will host the Arkansas Derby Saturday. Wood will join the show to discuss all things Virginia, and Piassek will stop by to handicap a Laurel Park feature race.
