Delaware Park has a 9-race card on tap for this Thursday. Post time for the opener is 1:15 p.m., and we’ve got Delaware Park picks.

How’d we do last time at Delaware Park?

RACE NUMBERCONTENDERSCOMMENTS
Race 77-6-1-2Two-year-old winners square off in this contest, and we’ll give the nod to #7 Liv and Let Liv (3-1) in the top spot. This miss was a promising winner on debut, when she was forced to steady back out of contention near the half-mile pole, regrouped and scooted through inside, took over in the lane and then hung on late. She found the waters deeper in her next start, though it was against the boys. She gets Lasix for the first time today and can move forward against a manageable group… #6 Laughin’ Place (2-1) ran a pair of good ones before finishing up the track in the Small Wonder, but we won’t knock her too much: winner Street Lute looks to be one of the better juveniles of the meet… #1 My Expensive Gift (10-1) keeps running good races at long odds… #2 Flirtatious Lass (4-1) won by DQ last time out and is making her second start with Lasix…
Race 86-2-8-4Thistledown shipper #6 Woodland Walk (6-1) loves to win — 14 times in 33 starts — has fired fresh before, and looks to be the controlling speed in this allowance contest. He’s the one they’ll need to run down… #2 Golden Candy (5-2) has won twice at the meet and has never been worse than third in eight tries over the strip. Wouldn’t judge that third in the New Castle too harshly: the top pair are runners… The last couple haven’t been great for #8 Aspect (6-1), but I’m looking for an improved effort in this spot; he competes with these on best… Stakes winner #4 Honor the Fleet (9-2) certainly has some better efforts to run back to, and the cutback in distance shouldn’t hurt…
