RACE 1: CLAIMING $16,000 (N/W2L), 3-YEAR OLDS AND UP, 5 1/2 FURLONGS (GRASS)
11-4-2-6
#11 Frye Island (2-1) was second in his local debut two starts back, then chased a favored gate-to-wire winner at Mountaineer last out and ended up a respectable third. There’s enough speed in here for him to seal the deal this time. Most of that speed will come from #4 Elon (7-2), who zoomed to an ambitious lead in his first start of the season last out. He opened up 5 1/2 lengths on the turn before flattening out. Blinkers are coming off here, suggesting that they’ll try to manage his speed a bit more. He’s a serious threat if he can set more reasonable fractions. #2 Tik Tok Daddy (9-2) has had many chances against these types, but he loves to rally for second and third-place shares, and this race should be no exception.
RACE 2: CLAIMING $7,500, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 7 FURLONGS
2-4-6-1
##6 Missy Boss (8-1), the dominant speed of the field, held on to win a one-mile contest in gate-to-wire fashion last out despite drifting out late. If the track is speed-favoring in any way, she’ll be especially hard to catch. #2 Watch Your Tone (6-5) goes first off the Ferris Allen claim and gets Yedsit Hazlewood up for the first time. She’s run brisnet figures of at least 86 in two of her last three starts. None of her five rivals have run faster than a 76 at any point in their last three races. #4 Baby Sox (6-1) sat off the pace and won two starts ago, then battled for the lead last out and was beaten 12 lengths (her dueling partner finished 11 1/4 lengths further back). That was the first time she’s been that forwardly-placed, so her best bet might be to sit off the leader again.
RACE 3: MAIDEN CLAIMING $16,000, 3-6 YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 MILE (GRASS)
5-2-6-11
#5 Paynted by Nancy (15-1) was no match for better in her last two starts, but takes a career-low drop and stretches out around two turns for the first time. Her dam, Jumpin’ Nancy, won around a two-turn mile on the Presque Isle Downs synthetic. #2 Holy Fit (4-1) chased a gate-to-wire winner, Donna Luna, last out, but still closed with interest and missed second by a nose. #6 Too Loose La Trek (6-1) was fourth, beaten a length behind Holy Fit, as the favorite last out. She ran in the 70s in her previous two grass starts, but badly regressed last time. You’ll get a much better price here if you still believe.
RACE 4: STARTER ALLOWANCE $7,500, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 6 FURLONGS
2-5-1-4
#2 Normandy Hero (6-5) led most of the way and held third against third-level allowance foes on grass last out in his first start of the year. He’s switching back to his preferred surface and plunging in class, so he should make the front easily and leave them reeling. #5 Cut Glass (5-1) turned in a gate-to-wire victory of his own two starts ago. He won’t be able to keep up with Normandy Hero, but he’s proven that he can run well from just off the pace as well. In his most recent start on this track, #1 Daifuskie Island (6-1) showed good fight and finished second to Fightertown, who won next out and hit the board in his subsequent two races.

RACE 5: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, 3-6 YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 1/16 MILES (GRASS)
6-2-9-8
#6 Toocoolforschool (9-5) set the pace in her grass debut and led almost the whole way. She wouldn’t let the eventual winner, American Tapit, by easily, but eventually did so, losing by three-quarters of a length. Still, it was a gigantic effort that bodes well for this spot. #2 Gum (4-1) finished 3 3/4 lengths behind Toolcoolforschool last out, in her first start off an 11-month layoff last out. She ran a career-best 81 that day after showing promise last year, and could be in line for an even bigger effort. #9 Mid Summer (8-1) flattened out last out at Tampa Bay Downs, but still improved sharply to a 78. She should only get better with experience, and could well complete a winning move at a decent price.
RACE 6: CLAIMING $12,500 (N/W2L), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 6 FURLONGS
1-2-4-3
#1 Manseeyasway (3-1) has dominant speed and pace figures, but he’s also lost at low odds in each of his last two starts. Still, this spot looks like such a layup, it’s hard to resist temptation. #2 Neverworkedaday (2-1) hasn’t shown much against starter optional claiming company this year, finishing well up the track in both starts at that condition. However, he’s now plunging in class, and a repeat of either of those two efforts makes him a contender here. #3 Clavin (7-2) broke his maiden on debut with a sharp 78, but has tailed off in his two races since. A career-low drop might wake him up.
RACE 7: ALLOWANCE (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 5 1/2 FURLONGS (GRASS)
6-11-5-1
#6 Jolly Boss (6-1) overcame some late traffic trouble to beat a Maryland-restricted allowance field in his 2025 finale last out. Dalinar, who he beat by a nose, came back to win beat a Maryland-restricted field around two turns on May 3. This one should take advantage of a potentially highly-contested pace. #11 Firmantown (5-1) set the pace last out and held second, beaten only to a rival who sat a perfect trip just off the pace. If anyone will emerge and wire the field, it’ll be him. #5 Cactus (3-1) finished in the exacta in his final four starts last year, including runner-up finishes to the likes of Where’s Ray and Noah Chance, both of whom have won at this meet. Yedsit Hazlewood gets the mount for the first time.
RACE 8: CLAIMING $7,500, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 6 FURLONGS
6-5-2-3
#6 Woodline (7-2) couldn’t keep up with Kerness K in his last two starts and was well-beaten by that rival. In his previous two starts, he went gate-to-wire against similar fields to this one. The class relief should lead to another peak performance. #5 Pudge Boy Palace (9-5) has won three of his last four starts at this level, and gets Yedsit Hazlewood, who rode him to victory the last two times he was aboard, back in the saddle. #2 Pit Stop Man (5-2) occasionally pops with a monstrous effort, and even a subpar effort (by his standards) would get him a share.
