A relatively quiet week saw only minor shuffling in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top Thoroughbred Poll.

All 10 from last week’s poll remained in the top 10, though their order changed slightly.

And once again, Triple Crown winner American Pharoah was the belle of the ball.  The son of Pioneerof the Nile garnered all 41 first-place votes cast to have a clear lead over runner-up Shared Belief, currently out after being injured in the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic.

The rest of the top five includes Grade 1 Met Mile winner Honor Code; California Chrome, whose Royal Ascot trip ended without a start after he suffered a foot bruise; and 2014 Eclipse champion turf horse Main Sequence, who is expected to start next in the Grade 1 United Nations at Monmouth Park.

The list includes just a single three-year-old, American Pharoah, and a single female, Beholder.  Beholder, the champion two-year-old filly in 2012 and three-year-old filly the following year, has won both of her starts this year and is eighth on the list.

Eligible media cast votes for their top 10 horses, with points awarded on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.  The Top Thoroughbred Poll is conducted weekly through the Monday following the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
