Irish War Cry to stand ’27 in West Virginia
Has previously stood in Maryland, Arkansas
Irish War Cry, the 2017 Belmont Stakes runner-up, has been sold and will stand at J. Michael Baird’s farm in New Cumberland, W.Va., for the 2027 breeding season, the Paulick Report reported. His advertised fee is $1,000 for a West Virginia-born foal and $2,500 for a foal born elsewhere.
The 12-year-old son of Curlin covered 83 mares in his first season at stud in 2019 at Maryland’s Northview Stallion Station. However, he covered just 35 mares combined in 2023 and 2024 at Northview before relocating to Leadem Farm in Arkansas. He covered four mares in 2026, according to the Jockey Club’s report of mares bred.
