The winter storm that hit the Mid-Atlantic region this week, blanketing it with snow, sleet, and freezing rain, has forced Charles Town Races to cancel live racing for the second consecutive night.

Penn National bookkeeper allegedly stole over $700,000
A part-time horse racing bookkeeper at Penn National stole over $700,000 from the company, state police allege.

The track announced the cancellation on Twitter. Live racing is scheduled to resume Friday with a 10-race program. The 2020 season concludes Saturday evening with another 10-race card.

Live racing for tonight, Thursday December 17th, has been canceled as a result of the winter storm.
