Delaware Park picks and analysis: August 6, 2026

  • CARRYOVERS: None
  • POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
  • NUMBER OF RACES: 9

RACE 1: 1-5-4-6

#1 Nano Man makes his first start in the hard-hitting Simone barn and just the second of his about-to-be 28-race career on dirt; prior form on synthetic fits with these, and of the two Simone runners in here, he’ll leg up Gonzalez on this one (jock-trainer combo is 5-for-11)… Good ride in latest by the bug rider on #5 Party On Rufus, who wasn’t quite good enough but ran well for the third straight time; has plenty of early speed but has shown he can sit off it too… #4 Spurious ran very well in a near-miss outing two back before a clunker against better last out…

RACE 2: 6-4-3-2

#6 Tennesseehoneybee won easily at a higher level last out and has speed to burn… #4 Glows in the Dark arrives on a three-race heater and might get a congenial pace setup with some speedy types to run at… #3 Nit Witness got cooked as part of the speed last out but is likely to have no choice but to stalk and pounce in this spot…

RACE 3: Off the turf

Picks: 1-2-3-6

RACE 4: 5-1-3-7

#5 Embrace My Uncle enters off an allowance win in latest and had excuses in his two prior tries at this level; might catch a pace to run into… #1 Frosty the Giant is one of the horses who figures to be part of the early running, leaves from the inside, and might be speed of the speed… #3 Striking Sparks always seems to sniffing around at the end; has speed but might be well advised to sit off it here…

RACE 5: Off the turf

Picks: 10-7-4-8

RACE 6: 9-8-4-2

#9 Develop Product enters in good form, and while his recent outings came sprinting, he’s run well going two turns, too; should have a pace to aim at… #8 Broadcaster ran a really good race last out and has some tries that are good enough here at perhaps an attractive price… #4 Ascendance has been second in two straight versus similar…

RACE 7: 5-1-2-3

#5 Yes I Will enters in good form and is making short work of his conditions; plenty of early speed but doesn’t seem to be a need-the-lead type… #1 Possum has been competitive with these types and showed a bit more early speed last time… #2 Lil Sebastian ran big last out when setting the pace and staying on to the bitter end…

RACE 8: Off the turf

Picks: 6-5-7-8

RACE 9: 10-6-7-2

#10 Teddy P didn’t run especially well in his troubled debut but has been away most of a year and shifts into the Ham Smith barn (6-for-29 with a positive ROI off long layoffs); good-looking worktab… #6 Thirsted, at first glance, appears to have had a bunch of chances at this level, but a closer look says he’s had only one sprint try at this level, and that was a solid second in which, though well beaten, he was clear of the rest… #7 Pea Ridge faced much better in his debut against special weight foes at Churchill but has been away nearly a year; gelded, gets blinkers, and adds Lasix for this return in a new barn…
