RACE 1: CLAIMING $16,000 (CONDITIONED), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 5 1/2 FURLONGS (GRASS)
11-6-12-5 (DIRT: 2-9-4-3)
#11 Gimme Two Shots (5-1) overhauled longtime leader Goodluck Road in the stretch to clear his non-winners of two condition in his most recent grass start, running a career-best brisnet figure of 79. Hoppetosse and Goodluck Road were second and fourth behind him that day, and returned to finish a strong second and third, respectively, at that level on Oct. 23. This one is in excellent form and should work out a desirable trip. #6 Baltic (5-2) ran a gigantic race on the lead last out at Delaware Park. He was pressed on the pace, then kicked away from his sparring partners, who faded to last and next-to-last. However, this one dug in and fended off the closers for his second victory in his last three starts. #12 Wheneveruremember (7-2) has been scratched from off-the-grass affairs twice since his last race at Colonial Downs in late August. He hasn’t been as sharp this year as last, but he’s taking a drop in class and managed a win against better three starts ago.
RACE 2: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, 3-6 YEAR-OLDS, 6 FURLONGS
2-3-5-4
#2 Plentyof Rogue (6-5) tried to come from off the pace on a speed-favoring track at first asking, but managed to run on well for second in an inexperienced bunch. While this is a much tougher field than the one he saw that day, further improvement will make him a serious menace. #3 Fort Griffin (4-1) lasted a long way on the lead and held second in his first race off a 9 1/2-month break two starts back, and looks for a rebound off a dismal try on the Belmont Park grass last out. If he wins this one, it’ll almost certainly be in gate-to-wire style. #5 Wyatt’s Way (5-1) chased Fort Griffin and faded first time out, but has worked well since and adds blinkers.
RACE 3: MAIDEN CLAIMING $35,000, 2-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES, 1 MILE (GRASS)
1-8-12-2 (DIRT: 8-3-11-1)
#1 Humming (2-1) battled for the lead on debut with favored Melodies, and faded in the stretch. She has a great draw and faces a field that’s no great shakes, so she should have an easy time on the lead here. #8 Hugh’s Legend (4-1) has improved with each start, most recently peaking at a 67 when fourth going a one-turn dirt mile behind runaway winner Sewanee Inn. Her dam, Bawlmer Hon, won the 2017 All Brandy Stakes going 1 1/8 miles on grass, so this type of race might be what she wants. Brittany Russell thought enough of #12 Flag Is Up (5-2) to send her to Belmont for her debut. She broke slowly and proved no factor, but a return home might wake her up.
RACE 4: CLAIMING $7,500 (N/W2L), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 5 1/2 FURLONGS
5-6-2-4
#5 Saint Shance (3-2) made his tenth career start a winning one last out, overcoming a bad start to win in a romp at Charles Town. Trainer Anthony Farrior and jockey Jeiron Barbosa have been a dangerous combination all meet long. #6 Who Says So (5-1) got the trip and came up empty third off the bench last out, but he’s getting a little bit of class relief, and is a dependable sort for underneath spots. #2 Spurious (12-1) was a flat fourth behind Who Says So last out, but just missed against similar two starts back at Delaware. He went off at 7-1 in that last effort; you’ll get a better price this time if you still believe.

RACE 5: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, 2-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES, 5 1/2 FURLONGS (GRASS)
9-2-1-5 (DIRT: 8-10-15-9)
#9 Turns to Gold (5-2) was already well-beaten by the time she got going on debut, but still managed to rally well and finish a clear-cut second. Some of the ones she lost to are in action earlier today. If they run well, it’ll further boost her cause. #2 Gin Gins Firework (3-1) went off favored on debut at the Meadowlands and overcame a bad start to get up for third in a photo finish. Jorge Ruiz gets the mount for the first time. #1 Voladora (7-2) finished a hard-charging third at first asking at Colonial, but regressed last out after a wide trip behind runaway winner Scabiosa. She’s had some time off since that Sept. 19 effort, and adds blinkers while drawing much better.
RACE 6: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, 2-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES, 7 FURLONGS
6-1-5-7
Brittany Russell is 2-for-4 with 2-year-old first-time starters at the fall meet, and she looks poised to improve that mark with #6 Unpause (9-2). She’s had this filly since mid-July and has had her on a steady worktab over the past few weeks. Most of her rivals are experienced, but it’s not the toughest field in the world. If she can run in the low/mid-70s – hardly a tall task for a Russell 2-year-old – she’ll be a threat. #1 Feroza (7-2) went off as the slight favorite in her first career start at Delaware last out. She dueled for the lead with eventualy runaway winner Tiz the Love and ended up third. That rival’s quality was confirmed when she dusted a first-level allowance field as the 2-5 favorite next out, defeating next-out winner Scabiosa in the process. #5 Vekomamona (15-1) has disappointed at short prices in both starts, but she at least improved six points to a 70 at second asking last out, and has decent late pace figures.
RACE 7: CLAIMING $40,000, 2-YEAR-OLDS, 5 1/2 FURLONGS
1A-2-3-4
#1A All Nessed Up (9-5) drops in class after a trio of tries against first-level allowance rivals and better on grass. He didn’t make much of an impact against those better rivals, but he’s been in slowly improving form, and has some of the best late speed in the field. #2 Java Prince (5-2) ran a huge race on the lead in his first start against winners at Delaware last out. He raced with favored Nazeer, who faded to last, but this one hung around and finished second only to a last-to-first rival. #3 X G Man (5-1) outkicked Java Prince for second, but got a better trip than that rival that day, though he might be a much better price here.
RACE 8: ALLOWANCE (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 1/16 MILES (GRASS)
6-8-4-1 (DIRT: 13-2-4-9)
#6 Let’s Dance Again (7-2) set the pace and held fourth against a better first-level allowance field than this one last out. Third-place finisher War Madam won at this level at Belmont on Sunday at 19-1. #8 High View (6-1) overcame very slow early fractions to win at the Maryland-restricted level two starts ago, then was simply overwhelmed when fifth to the classy Mopo in the Maryland Million Ladies two races ago. She now finds herself in a spot in whihc she’s the only one to run in the 80s in each of her last two starts. #4 Magic Beam (10-1) was fourth behind High View in her last grass race, and overcame a slow pace to break her maiden in her previous effort on this surface.
RACE 9: MAIDEN CLAIMING $25,000, 2-YEAR-OLDS, 6 FURLONGS
2-9-10-6
#2 Engaged Is Better (9-5) has hit the board in all three career starts while running into much better rivals than these each time. As long as no one jumps up dramatically, he’ll break through here. #9 Girvinski (5-2) finished a pace-chasing second on debut with a relatively impressive 65. He looks fast enough that he’ll be the chased, rather than the chaser, this time, despite his outside draw. #10 Cecilton (15-1) showed little at first asking, but jumped up seven points to a 63 while showing speed second time out. He’s adding blinkers here, and will likely try to press the pace from the outside.
