In the $100,000 White Clay Creek Stakes for two-year-old fillies at one mile, there is no obvious favorite and there are many directions to go when handicapping this competitive race. #2 Crypto Mama (8-1) has been running in restricted maiden special weight races in New York and left the maiden ranks in her most recent attempt. This filly is improving and we like her ascending speed figures. She has shown she can handle 7 furlongs, and a mile should not be a problem. We have her on top today. #6 Alma Rosa (7-2) ran second to Vedareo in the Sorority Stakes and Vedareo went on to run fifth in the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes after stumbling at the start. Adding Lasix today and the mile should not be a problem. #9 Always Angels (8-1) has a good race over the Delaware surface. First time trying a route and it’s question mark whether she will want the distance. #7 Fabulous Candy (5-1) won for fun in last. She looks like she won’t mind going longer, and if she can handle the distance she will be dangerous today.

Race #8 Picks: 4-6-3-1

In this $10,000 claiming race at 6 furlongs, #4 Steadytillready (5-2) has been running against tougher at Monmouth. He will be pressing the others in the stretch, and we think his class advantage will be enough for him to win today. #6 Rookie Salsa (8-1) had some good races earlier this year and fits well here. Dropping in class in second off claim and if he can repeat his last effort he will be in the mix. #3 Otis Otis Otis (4-1) won his last easily and has two wins in four tries at Delaware Park. He should be considered today. #1 Mojac Cat (3-1) is in good form and appears to like Delaware Park, where he ran a good 78 figure in last.
