Race #1 Picks: 7-5-6-1

Race #6 Picks: 3-6-5-8

In this $16,000 allowance/optional claiming race for fillies and mares N2L at 6 furlongs, #3 Rather Nosy (5-2) has been away for ten months but has been working well and is taking a large class drop. Trainer Jane Cibelli is good at spotting these kinds of horses and wins at 21% in 19 tries when bringing back horses that have been away for 180 days or longer. #6 Nymph (4-1) won her debut race running a solid 70 figure in a MSW event. If she can improve off that effort,4 she has a good shot today. #5 Liscolvin (7-2) convincingly won a MSW race in last and was game running a strong second to Nymph two races back. She looks like a contender here. #8 Dancer’s Melody (8-1) is taking a subtle class drop from N1X to N2L and should be considered today.

Race #7 Picks: 1A-2-9-7

In this optional claiming race for N2X at about 5 furlongs on the turf, #1A Grooms All Bizness (9-5) is also eligible, and if he draws in, he is a top contender. He won an allowance race at Monmouth a few weeks ago after running third in the My Frenchman stakes at 24-1. He has tactical speed and likes to lay just off the pace. #2 Tiger Blood (3-2) is a closer even at 5F on the turf. He faltered in his only race this year in an optional claiming race at Belmont. He needed that race and may look more like the horse who was running well in Florida last year. #9 Epic Luck (15-1) has early speed and is now cutting back to a sprint on the grass for the first time. The shorter distance could help him.  # 7 About Today (Arg) has shown speed in turf sprints before and could get in the mix.
