Laurel Park cancels Feb. 5 card

Lingering effects from winter storm Landon have forced the Maryland Jockey Club to cancel Saturday’s live nine-race card at Laurel Park.

In addition to the winter storm, which passed through the Mid-Atlantic region Thursday and Friday, freezing temperatures and wind chill were contributing factors to the cancellation.

LRL: For Graham Motion barn, opposites attract wins
The Graham Motion barn sent out polar opposite distaffers in Saturday stakes at Laurel Park, and both Toupie and No Show Sammy Jo won.

Laurel was also forced to cancel Friday’s card after three of the planned eight races had been conducted. According to Equibase, it’s the sixth partially or completely canceled day at the track this year.

Laurel’s planned partial ARC simulcast presentation from San Isidro has also been cancelled.

Laurel, Pimlico Race Course, Rosecroft and the MJC’s OTB network remain open for simulcasting.
