In the face of oncoming winter weather, Penn National will postpone its Wednesday card.

The card, featuring the $200,000 Fabulous Strike Handicap and the $100,000 Swatara, will be instead be run Saturday night.

The Fabulous Strike, a six-furlong sprint, has attracted an accomplished 12-horse field, including Grade 1 winner Strapping Groom, multi-millionaire Ben’s Cat, and speedy Bern Identity, recently third in the $350,000 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash.  However, four of the entrants are cross-entered in Saturday’s Grade 3 Fall Highweight at Aqueduct, leaving in question how many will go postward.

The Swatara has 11 runners signed up, including morning line favorite Stormin Monarcho, who recently won the Richard W. Small Stakes at Laurel.

The card also includes the Blue Mountain Juvenile Fillies for distaff frosh bred in Pennsylvania.

Penn National’s post time is 6:00 p.m.
