Delaware Park picks and analysis: May 27, 2026

  • CARRYOVERS: None
  • POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
  • NUMBER OF RACES: 8

RACE 1: 6-1-4-5

#6 Real Talented has run pretty well in back-to-back races and has the tactical speed to get a good trip, likely just off the pace… #1 Pierce Elevated rallied to lead briefly at about the head of the lane in latest before tiring late to be third in a race that’s produced a runaway next-out winner… #4 Majestic Tiger’s form is all over the place, but his better efforts would likely win here…

RACE 2: 3-4-5-6

#3 Capricorn Belle didn’t show a ton in three tries on turf and synthetic in Great Britain but now tries dirt in the US; her breeding says dirt could be the right answer, as she’s by Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist and a half to a two-time dirt winner, and note that rider Cruz, a regular rider for trainer Lynch, lands here despite having ridden Lynch’s other entrant two previous times… #4 Dream Eagle ought to win in this spot after a pair of third-place finishes in special weight company, but she figures to be bet down to verrrryyyy low odds… #5 All Fun N Games has run pretty well in two prior tries…

RACE 3: 7-1-5-4

#7 Capt. Candy arrives off a solid score at Penn National; might be the speed of the speed but doesn’t need the lead — his most recent win came from just off the pace — so rider Ramos can use outer draw to see how things develop… #1 Reverend Moon has been facing better, albeit without much success, and in latest pressed the pace of the winner but could not stay with that rival… #5 Russian Hammer would benefit from a lively pace to run at…

RACING NOTES

RACE 4

  • If on turf: 3-5-7-13 as #3 Win Street has been facing better
  • If on dirt: 2-11-10-4 as #2 Mentor is entered main track only and has run good races going short and long

RACE 5: 6-3-5-4

Pretty rugged group for a starter allowance, including #6 Silver Slugger, who finished third in the Pelican Stakes at Tampa (as the favorite) in February; hopped at the start and never looked comfortable in G3 event last out, but this guy’s best is formidable, and his plentiful early speed and ability to stalk should stand him in good stead… #3 Kerness K has been on a tear since getting trained by trainer Ness: three straight starter allowance wins by a combined 20+ lengths… #5 Heldish has not been in great form and is a cut below the top pair regardless, but he does have a good closing kick on his good days and could get a lively pace at which to run…

RACE 6

  • If on turf: 2-1-4-3, as #2 Companion makes season bow for a barn that has a positive ROI bringing horses off similar breaks going a route of ground
  • If on dirt: 8-5-13-4, as #8 Ms Sophistication gets blinkers on and second Lasix for second start of ’26

RACE 7: 1-2-6-7

#1 Especially laid waste to a Laurel allowance field last out in her first outing in Brittany Russell’s barn, winning by seven lengths, and that race has produced a pair of next-out winners; likely to be a couple of lengths off it early… #2 Intrepid Mo makes her first start of the season for a barn that can win off the bench; was in very good form before the break and has five recorded works, two at a mile, in preparation… #6 Disco Rules threw in a clunker as the favorite last out in her first in the Stites barn but has plenty of good earlier tries…

RACE 8: 6-2-3-4

#6 Foxy Lady, a veteran of 88 starts, beat better just three back and makes her second start after the Simone claim; Simone has a positive ROI bringing horses back in 1-7 days, and this one should appreciate the class relief on the drop from starter company… #2 Compass Fire, making her first start since February, has generally faced significantly tougher competition but could use some help from the pace, which may not materialize… #3 Baha Street went right to the front and kept on going last out against three-life company, earning a career-best Beyer fig of 73, a repeat of which would win here…
