Delaware Park picks and analysis: Sept. 16, 2026

  • CARRYOVERS: Pick 5, $13,948; Pick 5, $9,173
  • POST TIME: 12:40 P.M.
  • NUMBER OF RACES: 8

RACE 1: 3-2-5-6

#3 Jack Rabbitness gave a credible account of himself in his debut against better at Colonial; the winner of that contest had been fourth in the Hickory Tree S. prior… #2 A Little Off flashed a bit of speed before backing out on debut…

RACE 2: 6-2-4-1

#6 It’s the Law Baby has run improved races in each of her last three, and a couple are better than they look; hopes for stalk-and-pounce trip here… Not sure what to do with #2 Great Destiny, but if we can get a price, we’re inclined to give her another crack; her debut was very good, and she won next out, and while the stakes try was poor, she can get back to good form here…

RACE 3: 8-10-5-7

Interesting: jockey Paco Lopez, who’d ridden possible favorite #10 Stella Mars three straight, lands on #8 Gossiper for the low-profile, jumps-oriented Foley barn; she gets blinkers on here… #10 Stella Mars is winless in six tries this year but has a pair of runner-up finishes against similar… #5 Cha Cha Chukka is capable…

RACE 4: 1-2-8-5

#1 Of Course is a half-sister to millionaire Jaxon Traveler and makes her career debut for a Robertson barn that can win first out… #2 Sewanee Inn gave a good account of herself in her debut when battling inside the even-money favorite… #8 Jesse Marie was well beaten by runaway winner Cha Cha Baby in her debut but finished ahead of next-out winner Martiniwithatwist, who then turned around to win the Small Wonder…

RACE 5: 3-7-5-6

#3 Ruby Hamilton was reluctant to load in latest and perhaps left the best part of her race behind the gate; well spotted alongside the winner in upper stretch, she couldn’t quite go on late but has better races to return to and gets leading rider Lopez up… #7 Smokeshow didn’t run badly last out in her first try on the lawn for a Eubanks barn having a good meeting… #5 Cocoa Mills has run pretty well in two turf tries…

RACE 6: 6-2-5-8

#6 Missy Boss may not be good enough, but she could well be the controlling speed in this spot, and her last — off a bit of a layoff — was better than it looks, as others involved in the early running mostly ended up behind her (and one who didn’t, Always Forward, won next out)… #2 Bugged Out has run decently versus better…

RACE 7: 3-9-4-6

#3 Tiz Complex arrives on a two-race win streak and that last was even better than it seems at first glance, as she was able to close nicely despite a slow pace in front of her, throwing down the fastest third quarter of the race and the fastest final 5/16… #9 Somme River has run three straight good ones and just missed against similar in latest… #4 World Builder will be running late…

RACE 8: 6-1-5-2

#1 Undertaker looks like a strong favorite in here, but what’s fun about that, especially with an 0-for-14 ledger (including 0-for-8 on the main track)… #6 Kid Mo had a useful enough debut at Parx in a race that’s produced a next-out winner, and his breeding is crying out for the added ground he gets today
