RACE 1: CLAIMING $16,000 (N/W2L), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 1 1/16 MILES (GRASS)
6-11-15-16
#6 Mr. Funtastico (5-2) lacked room during the crucial part of the race last out, but rallied well when clear and got second behind a 41-1 gate-to-wire winner. There isn’t a ton of speed in here, either, but he should at least sit close to the pace and will be especially dangerous if he can save some ground. He’s gotten caught wide throughout in his last two races. #11 Triathelon (8-1) was third against similar two races ago, then showed speed and held well for fourth in a washed-off race last out (his dueling partner was eased). We’ll see if Jose Vargas is able to grab the bull by the horns and make the lead from the outside. #15 Lomax (12-1) makes his local debut for the Jonathan Maldonado barn after spending his career in his home state of Florida. He showed some hints of promise on the lawn earlier in his career, and three of his five winning siblings have won on the surface. The most notable of those is Catholic Boy, a four-time graded stakes winner on grass.
RACE 2: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, 3-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES, 7 FURLONGS
1-2-4-6
#1 Come On Get Happy (9-5) ran a career-best race at Aqueduct last out. Making her first start in five months, she showed no signs of rust, dueling for the lead and holding second. Third-place finisher Fairy Godmother returned to win a maiden claiming race by 6 1/2 lengths on May 23. #2 Ada Girl Adeline (10-1) recovered nicely from a poor break and managed to close well for fifth on debut last out. She has easily the best late pace figure in the race; if she improves on it, she’ll be tough to hold off. #4 Raisin Weekend (5-1) was no factor going long on grass last out, but will probably be more at home in a spot like this.
RACE 3: CLAIMING $12,500 (N/W2L), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 1 MILE
6-8-2-5
For the third race in a row, I’ll pick a shipper. #6 Cat Fast (6-1) lasted through constant pace pressure to break his maiden in his third start off the layoff at Aqueduct last out. Three horses who finished behind him have raced since, and all three finished second or third. #8 Market Watch (5-1) was elevated to his maiden-breaking win at Charles Town last out when the winner was disqualified for causing interference on the first turn. This one ran a game race in his own right, battling on the lead throughout and ultimately losing by a half-length while finishing well-clear of the others. #2 Chaperone (2-1) was dismal in his last two races, but he’s been with Jamie Ness’s barn for at least a few weeks, and he’s been known to wake up shippers.
RACE 4: ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS, 5 1/2 FURLONGS
2-6-5-4
#2 Mo’s Glitter (3-1) ran a gigantic race on the lead in the Maryland Million Nursery. He dueled for the early lead and held second over the hard-charging Big Cuddle, while his dueling partner finished last. His effort was validated when Big Cuddle won the Sir Barton Stakes three weeks ago. This one hasn’t raced since the Nursery, but he has a very high ceiling and must be respected despite the layoff. #6 Falcon Jet (6-5) was well-beaten in the Sir Barton, establishing that two-turn races are not his forte. He broke his maiden easily going six furlongs two starts back, and that kind of effort would win this. #5 Magic Wallet (5-2) raced wide and faded in the Chick Lang Stakes, but now drops in class and gets back on Lasix. He won the Dover Stakes last August at Delaware Park and looks to round back into that form in his third start of the season.

RACE 5: CLAIMING $20,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 1 1/16 MILES (GRASS)
6-11-2-5
The last time he raced on grass, #6 Love Me Not (5-1) set the pace against much better runners and managed to hold fourth. That form was validated last Saturday when the winner of that race, Siege of Boston, came back to win a third-level allowance route. This one should enjoy the return to the lawn after finishing well-beaten in his last few dirt starts. #11 Sell Something (12-1) hasn’t won since November 2023, but he’s been in sharp form lately, finishing second or third in his last five races. He tends to fall far behind and make a strong late rally at a decent price. Look for him to do the same thing in this spot. #2 Hunter Joe (9-2) was an OK fourth in his first start of the year at 5 1/2 furlongs last out. Longer distances are more his bag; he’s 2-for-4 with a second-place finish at this distance. That last race may have simply been a prep for today, and this spot should be his time to shine.
RACE 6: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT, 3-6 YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES AND MARES, 5 1/2 FURLONGS (GRASS)
10-1-5-7
#10 Sin Boldly (2-1) ran a game second while wide throughout, losing only to well-meant first-time starter Erice. She showed much more kick that day than she had in either of her two 2-year-old starts. #1 Angels Envy (7-2) has shown slow but steady improvement in her last two grass races, and the addition of blinkers likely means she’ll be sent for speed from the inside. #5 Lucky Lis (15-1) ran a career-best brisnet figure of 77 in her last grass start, in which she set ambitious fractions going two turns and hung around until the last eighth. She might work out a great trip sitting just off of Angels Envy.
RACE 7: ALLOWANCE (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 6 FURLONGS
2-1-4-6
#2 La Chismosa (4-1) finished second in Florida-bred stakes company in her last two starts, both times losing only to overwhelming favorites. She was a winner of three of her previous four races, and gets much-needed class relief in her local debut. #1 Mon Reve (5-1) made her career debut at Keeneland two starts back, and was a respectable third behind two big favorites who ran 1-2 throughout. She shipped to Monmouth Park next out and won in dazzling style, improving 13 points to an 85. She looks like she has a very high ceiling. #4 On a Proud Note (9-5) has sharp early speed and has won four of her last five races, including a win against Maryland-restricted rivals last out where she opened up a clear lead and just held on against a late-surging Looks First. That runner came back to win at the Maryland-restricted class on Saturday.
RACE 8: ALLOWANCE (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 5 1/2 FURLONGS (GRASS)
2-6-1-10
#2 Mopo (7-5) rallied once she found room last out to win her first start of the season. The runner-up, Big Earn, came back to beat a similar field to this one as the favorite on Sunday. After getting washed off twice and being stuck on the also-eligible list once, #6 River Seine (8-1) finally looks ready to make her second start of the year. She ran a career-best 85 first off a seven-month layoff last out at Gulfstream Park, and will likely show serious speed. #1 The Magic Ofmovies (12-1) pressed the pace and kicked on nicely to break her maiden on Maryland Million eve, then closed with a rush after a bad start in her first start against winners next out. She hasn’t raced since November, but has worked well over the past few weeks for Mike Trombetta and gets Lasix for the first time. In her maiden win, she beat Sin Boldly, who is running in race 6. If she wins, it’ll validate this one’s form.
RACE 9: CLAIMING $12,500 (N/W3L), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 6 FURLONGS
2-1-4-6
#2 Maidstone (5-2) cleared her non-winners of two condition last out, just missing her career-best with a 75. She battled for the lead with the other favorite an pulled away. She was claimed from that race by Anthony Farrior, who gave her a bit of time off after that effort and have her ready for a big return. #1 Christy My Love (30-1) has been in improving form in her last three starts, peaking at a 73 when she wore down the early leaders to win last out. That’s not far off what most of the other contenders run, and she’ll be a much higher price than any of them. #4 No Mo Muffins (9-5) was an easy winner in her last start on this track against open 3-year-old claimers, and gets to drop to this level for the first time after a dull try against better at Penn National last out.
