Prior to yesterday’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale, we cited a number of Hips to Watch in the sale.  Here’s how those on our non-exhaustive list fared:

With the region betting heavily on new sires, here’s how the sires with the most hips in the sale did:

  • El Padrino – 13 hips sold – high of $23,000, average of $7,123
  • Friesan Fire – 9 hips sold – high of $10,000, average of $3,556
  • Despite the Odds – 8 hips sold – high of $14,000, average of $4,738
  • Freedom Child – 8 hips sold – high of $26,000, average of $12,525
  • Weigelia – 6 hips soldhigh of $25,000, average of $15,333
