From a Breeders’ Cup release

The Breeders’ Cup and Equibase Company LLC today announced the launch of the 2014 Virtual Stable “Road to the Breeders’ Cup” notification service, which provides a once daily e-mail of workouts, entries and results for the top contenders for all 13 World Championships races. The service is free throughbreederscup.com and equibase.com.

“Much like a playoff tournament, there is always heightened interest in the races leading up to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, and the Virtual Stable notifications help contribute to the excitement,” said Breeders’ Cup Chief Operating Officer Robert N. Elliston. “We are very pleased to partner again with Equibase in providing our fans with the most updated information on their favorite horses pointing to this year’s event at Santa Anita Park.”

“In addition to keeping informed on a daily basis of the progress and preparation of the leading horses in each championship division of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships,” said Hank Zeitlin, president and chief operating officer for Equibase, “the service is a link to the Stats Central area of equibase.com where profile pages of every horse, jockey, trainer and owner racing in North America is available free of charge.”

Each notification includes links to information such as workouts, entries, results charts and past performance programs in addition to a list of upcoming televised races on FOX Sports 1, NBC and NBCSN.

The service tracks approximately 20 horses per division, including the top 10 horses in the Top Thoroughbred Poll issued weekly by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Information on foreign horses is included when possible with the assistance of various international organizations.

The notifications will conclude following the 31st running of the $26 million Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

In addition to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships notifications, Virtual Stable offers the ability to follow individual horses, jockeys, trainers, tracks, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse stakes races, the leading contenders on the Road to the Triple Crown, and large carryover pools.
