Great Soul’s first try against winners came in yesterday’s Wide Country Stakes at Laurel Park. That turned out to be a good idea, as she surged to victory.
The De Francis Dash was named a Grade 3 for 2016, while three other Maryland stakes were awarded Listed status for next year.
Local runners Gypsy Judy and Savvy Street took the Wide Country and Miracle Wood Stakes on today’s General George undercard.
