RACE 1: 6-3-4-1

#6 As the Bell Toles looks like a tough out in here: the speed of the speed and the only four-time winner in a race where others have won just twice; the outside draw doesn’t hurt… Any idea which #3 Warrior’s Jewel we’ll get? Will it be the one that finished last of six, beaten a pole, two back at 6-1? Or will it be the one who was a good third last out at 88-1?

RACE 2: 6-1-5-2

#1 Little Lance has run a lot of good races, including several recently, but often seems to give up the lead late, which makes the 2-1 morning line a bit daunting; should be main speed here, though… #6 Powerful gets significant class relief in this spot, and though he has speed, he can sit off, as well; best efforts win here…

RACE 3: 3-2-5-4

#3 Chowser will be very short odds but is really tough to ignore in this spot: his speed figs are clearly best, and in a race light on speed, he might be controlling it up front…#2 Lino’s Fire is consistent… #5 Adios Buster tries the main track for the first time after eight tries on synthetic and turf; his breeding says dirt shouldn’t be an issue, and his figs line up favorably if he can bring his turf form with him…

RACE 4: 1-10-2-3

#1 Keep Her Happy ran decently in her first main-track try, finishing fourth in a heat that was as fast as that recorded two races earlier by next-out stakes winner For the Ladies; that effort came while inside on a day that seemed to favor the outside… #2 Here’s to the Boys is a daughter of Great Notion (16% with older debut runners) making her first career start for veteran trainer Ned Allard…

RACE 5: 4-5-7-1

#4 Captain Cody ran a good one first time out when second by a length to Perfect Dream, who then was third in the Grade 3 With Anticipation… #5 Checkorsee makes his career bow from the barn of trainer Lynn Ashby, who has a positive ROI with debut 2yo…You can never ignore Brittany Russell runners like #7 Ready Set, who has two siblings that won first out…

RACE 6: 5-6-3-2

What an intriguing showdown between #5 Oak Brook Lady, who’s 2-for-2, and #6 Chatelot, a winner last out who hasn’t raced in nearly four months; we give the nod to the former on recency… #3 Project Maximus flashed talent as a juvenile but hasn’t raced this year… #2 Doc’s Miracle won the Smart Halo last November but hasn’t been able to replicate that…

RACE 7: 4-6-7-10

Bombs away! #4 Tug wasn’t much horse when he last tried turf, back in April, and he ran what was at the time a career-best race; he’s much better now with five straight exacta finishes and gets back to a surface he may well prefer; in a wide-open race, this one could offer value… #6 Alrasikh thrashed two-life rivals last out…

RACE 8: 6-5-1-7

#6 Calling on Heaven switches into the Brion barn and comes off the bench, but anything like his prior six starts would get it done on the class drop…#5 U Crocs had a useful return to action last out…
