The 2026 Timonium meet at the Maryland State Fair concluded Monday with an eight-race program.
For the record, Furious George was the meet’s final winner, rallying from off the pace to win a bottom-level maiden claimer by a length over longtime leader Meredithslightning. Furious George, a four-year-old Holy Boss gelding who entered the contest 0-for-20, was ridden by Matilda Burnham for trainer Damon Dilodovico.

In the final feature of the meet, Wisconsin Gal wore down Julee’s Legacy to win a $54,000, four-furlong allowance by 1 ½ lengths. Great Andrei was along late for second. Carlos Lopez rode the winner for trainer Phil Capuano.
TIMONIUM NOTES
- Anthony Farrior earned leading trainer honors for the third consecutive year, winning eight races. No other trainer had more than three wins. He also was the leading “big barn” trainer on racing secretary Georganne Hale’s point system, earning him a $5,000 bonus. He was followed in that by Jose Corrales, Ferris Allen, Jerry Robb, and John Salzman, Jr.
- The leading point getter among small barns was Robin Graham, who picked up her first win of the season and overall posted a 5:1-2-1 record at the Big T. She was followed in the point standings by Justin Nixon, who won the Sunday feature with Sheilah’s Warcloud, Mike Geralis, Damon Dilodovico, and Marco Salazar.
- Jeiron Barbosa earned leading rider honors with 11 wins, one more than Carlos Lopez, who led all riders in purse earnings. Despite being shut out on closing day, Barbosa won seven times over the stand’s final weekend and had just enough cushion to hold off Lopez, who won three on closing day.
- Two horses – Lomax and Nano Man – won two races during the brief meet. They were among 22 to make two starts.
- The Pedro Nazario-trained For the Ladies won the lone stake of the meet, the $75,000 Shine Again for fillies and mares. It was Nazario’s first stakes win. Raul Mena was in the irons.
- Timonium recorded an injury-free meet, Maryland state veterinarian Dr. Elizabeth Daniel told the state Racing Commission Wednesday: no fatalities and no injuries of consequence. “The horse ambulance never had to leave its parking spot,” she said.
Racing shifts to Laurel Park starting Friday.
