1. #2 Liam’s Law (5-2) – Gate to wire in his turf debut second time out for Todd Pletcher, and will likely have control of this race from the jump which gives him an advantage
2. #3 High Official (7-5) – Prat takes this mount for Pletcher over Liam’s Law, with winning chances if someone pushes Liam’s Law out too quickly here
3. #4 Bold Leadership (8-5) – The third of the Pletcher trio here, this colt gets Manny Franco and made a nice late move in his debut that narrowly missed, and will have to improve to win here
4. #1 Howard’s Hope (8-1) – Perfect Dream may have the tactical advantage here, but came home slowly last time at Monmouth with both of these runners a slight step below the Pletcher trainees
Race 9 – Alw 120000n1x
1. #3 Ortley Avenue (3-1) – Was running against better last year, and has the speed to go gate to wire if Castellano can get this colt to control slightly more modest fractions this time around
2. #8 Brightline Bullet (7-2) – Ran well in defeat last time in his switch to turf, and keeps Manny Franco for Clement here with upside if he stays a bit closer to the leaders here
3. #9 After Taxes (6-1) – Has been in a good rhythm recently and should run better here with a more aggressive trip from Dylan Davis from this outside post with his best efforts coming closer to the leaders
4. #5 Money Makes Money (5-1) – Competitive speed figures and a good record in the money on turf with a win last time over this course and seems to be running his best now
Race 10 – Alw 120000n1x
1. #4 Lion of Justice (9-2) – Travers winning duo teams up with this colt by Into Mischief who appears to want nine furlongs and has been competitive in all three tries lifetime
2. #5 Preside (3-1) – Improved with added ground but may have also taken to the sloppy tracks in his last two with one of the sharper nine furlong races last time out in breaking maiden
3. #8 Annexperience (8-1) – Couldn’t handle the mile and three quarters last time in the Birdstone, but has run well in his previous two dirt tries which have been dominant wins so could be sneaky here
4. #3 Courting (6-1) – Gulfy can be considered if he avoids early pace pressure after running in the Curlin last time, but this Pletcher trainee off the bench comes out of three straight grade II tries on the Derby trail and adds lasix
Race 11 – Grade I Spinaway Stakes
1. #2 Summer Starlet (2-1) – Filly by City of Light was impressive in her debut and appears to be reaching for more distance with a likely quick pace to aim at here
2. #4 Stress Relief (8-1) – Winner of the Grade III Adirondack and unblemished through two starts, this filly should be in the right stalking position to win here if she gets the right trip and set up
3. #6 Harper’s Corner (5-1) – Proved her debut was no fluke with a convincing win in the Schuylerville in early July, and has the speed to take this field gate to wire especially if she can get away from Life Changing here
4. #8 Life Changing (5-2) – Big price tag for this filly by Life is Good who won by seven lengths first time out for Pletcher and has the early speed to contend with Harper’s Corner here
Race 12 – OClm 45000
1. #3 Ori (9-5) – Hasn’t had winning efforts recently, but does have the early speed that could make her a threat here plus picks up Prat in the irons who has ridden well for Nevin over the last year
2. #7 Griselda (4-1) – Ran against graded company in the fall with a recent off effort in a turf sprint, but should get back to her best with a return to this distance
3. #5 Sweet Dutchess (8-1) – Off of a lengthy layoff, but does have the previous form to run well against this group even if she may need a race to get back into a groove
4. #11 Lotus Petal (8-1) – Has been competitive running against this class with a solid front running effort last time out and decent finishes at the distance recently
