Delaware Park picks and analysis: June 6, 2026

  • CARRYOVERS: None
  • POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
  • NUMBER OF RACES: 8

RACE 1: 6-2-1-7

#6 Sometime goes first off the claim for trainer Phil Capuano, who adds blinkers and has a 3.02 ROI with first time blinks; looks for a stalk-and-pounce trip… Morning line favorite #2 Worker Bee makes his first start since February for trainer Gary Capuano, and he’s likely speed of the speed and tough to handle on best — but the big drop from a good try against $62,500 company to this return against $25,000 rivals makes the likely short odds a concern… #1 Ball of Fire cuts back from a mile to a six-furlong distance at which he owns two wins…

RACE 2: 2-6-4-3

#2 Newyearsblockparty stopped in latest, but that may have been a solid group: winner Just Relax stepped up to starter company and won next out, as well; this one could be speed of the speed… #6 Vanzzy will likely be well outfooted in the early running, as he’s been racing around two turns pretty much his whole career, but he could be running late… #4 Float On arrives off a win and looked good doing it, but it’s fair to wonder what he beat that day: none of five to run back has finished in the money next out…

RACE 3: 8-2-5-4

#8 Bint Mischief should be well positioned not too far off likely leader #2 Phoebeinwonderland early and looking to pounce late following a decent local outing when wide and perhaps a bit keen… #2 Phoebeinwonderland set a sharp opener in latest to clear to the lead, then dueled with the winner before tiring in the final furlong… #5 High View has been second and third versus similar, but Woolley trainees typically need a race or two off the bench to be at their bests…

RACE 4: 6-3-4-1

#6 Embrace the Moment didn’t run poorly last out when making her first start since September, finishing second to a 3-5 shot and clear of the rest; forgive the Grade 3 try when cooked on the front end and she’s only run good races; gets Hernandez up… #3 Moon Cache had an improved effort when running evenly in latest and might get a lively pace to run at today; the winner of that tilt repeated, and this one has better to run back to… #4 Candy Talking likely goes favored after back-to-back 70+ Beyer figs and finished ahead of Moon Cache last out; with speed to her inside in Sina and to her outside in Embrace the Moment, she’ll need to work out a trip…

RACE 5: 9-2-6-10

#9 Card Trick ran huge at big odds last out in the Jim McKay Turf Sprint and has run numerous good races going longer, too; owns two allowance wins at Tampa from earlier in his career… #2 Parkes gets blinkers on and stretches out for his third off the bench, and note that he has one earlier two-turn try: a good third behind the talented Proton in last fall’s Laurel Futurity… #6 Sam Stormy improved significantly in the latter portion of last year’s Delaware meet and has continued in good form so far this year, winning a Tampa allowance last out…

RACE 6: 2-3-5-4

Competitive allowance contest is also a strange one, in which all of the horses either want to go farther or shorter, it seems… We land on #2 Call Me Andy, who arrives off a pretty good try in a second-level allowance at Laurel behind the promising Wickeddivine; he’s never gone a route of ground on dirt but has run pretty well a couple times at seven furlongs and should be speed of the speed… #3 Temecula likely will be the nearest pursuer to Call Me Andy and won a never-two allowance over the strip last out… #5 Tracking Error seems likely to find the one-mile trip a bit short: both his wins came at nine furlongs, and his four tries at a mile have only netted him some thirds…

RACE 7: 4-7-9-11

#4 Magical Ways may not be the horse he was when last on the turf this past September, but he posted his first win since March 2024 last out, so the confidence may be back, and he should get a lively pace to run into… #7 El de Larry has some pretty good turf tries on the resume and had a useful season bow last out when leading a long way before settling for second; though he has early speed, he’s show some versatility… #9 King’s River ran evenly last out against better…

RACE 8: 2-7-6-1

We’ll take a shot in the dark to close the card with #2 Break of Dawn; this first timer by Engage (16% 1st starters) is a half to a first-out winner, has been training forwardly (note fast gate work May 16), and trainer Jaclyn Reed had a first-out winner last year at the meet… #7 Just Jo Jo ran some good races at Oaklawn, including a third behind subsequent Bathhouse Row Stakes winner Crupper, who was up the track in the Preakness; ran a decent race in debut here last year when fourth behind subsequent two-time stakes winner Hollywood Import… #6 Hard Freeze ran OK on the slop last out and gets blinkers on for his second start off the bench…
