RACE 1: CLAIMING $12,500 (N/W2L), 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 MILE

2-7-5-6

The last race of #2 Aeronyx (8-1) is much better than it looks on paper. She was bumped around at the start and lost early position, ultimately finding herself well off the early pace. She got back into gear and made what looked like a promising move on the far turn, but flattened out and finished last. She should run much better with a cleaner break, and may even be able to get to the front in a race without a ton of speed. #7 Ineedyoubabe (9-2) is both the lightest-raced horse in the field and the only one who hasn’t lost against winners. She made a strong move from off the pace to win at third asking last out at Charles Town, and gets Jevian Toledo for her local debut. Toledo is 3-for-10 in the past 60 days when riding for Anthony Farrior. #5 Luminous Secret (9-5) was a trouble-filled third in her first start at this condition last out and should run a big race first off the Jamie Ness claim.

RACE 2: MAIDEN CLAIMING $12,500, 4-6-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES AND MARES, 6 FURLONGS

1-2-3-4

#1 Hey Alexa (5-1) got a good trip off of a contested pace last out and finished third in her second start off a year-long break. She should get another great setup off the pace on the rail. #2 Greatwhitefleet (2-1) drops to a career-low level after finishing fourth behind the much-the-best She’s Not a Lad last out. She’s run a brisnet figure of at least 57 in six of her seven career starts. A repeat of any of those races puts her in the mix against these. #3 Tasty Time (7-5) battled with the aforementioned She’s Not a Lad on the lead and held third in her last engagement. She was second to a gate-to-wire favorite with a career-best 65 in her lone prior try at this condition.

RACE 3: MAIDEN CLAIMING $16,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS, 7 FURLONGS

1-7-5-4

#1 Modranach (6-1) raced in midpack and held fourth in his debut against a better field than this one last out. He gets some class relief second time out and put in a solid workout at Fair Hill on Sunday, his first timed drill since his January 23 bow. #7 Q Got Hops (15-1) and #5 Flying to Work (8-1) were third and second, respectively, in the same race on February 20. Q Got Hops ran a huge race on the lead that day. He dueled for early position and held third while outfinishing his dueling partner by 8 ½ lengths. Flying to Work rallied from off of that contested pace and got up over Q Got Hops by a head. He’s shown glimpses of promise in his four-race career, but he’ll need another good setup to get the job done.

RACE 4: STARTER OPTIONAL CLAIMING $20,000, 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 6 FURLONGS

4-1-3-5

#4 Rampagius (8-5) was an easy winner two starts ago, then was elevated to victory against first-level foes last out after crossing the wire second by a nose. He has great tactical speed in a race loaded with confirmed frontrunners, so he should get a great trip and cruise to victory. #1 Murray (6-1) was beaten five lengths in his last start at this condition, but has plenty of backclass and should get a better setup this time. #3 Cold Feet (3-1) looks like the most dangerous speed. He ran a huge race on the lead at Penn National last out, lasting through an early duel to win in a dead heat. With the other main speeds drawn to his outside, he’ll at least be able to protect the rail.

RACE 5: CLAIMING $7,500 (CONDITIONED), 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 5 1/2 FURLONGS

7-6-1-3

#7 B West (7-5) closed well from far off the pace against better last out. He’s the only one to run in the 80s in each of his last three starts and has by far the best late pace figures. #6 Backnthewoods (5-1) has faded after showing speed in his last few starts, but he has by far the best early pace figures this time. If nothing else, he’ll have every chance to take them gate-to-wire. #1 Spotted Bull (7-2) won at this level three starts ago and looks for a rebound after a flat effort last Friday.

RACE 6: CLAIMING $16,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS, 1 1/16 MILES

1-2-3-6

#1 Sin Sin (5-2) broke his maiden in dominant fashion last out after a great stalking trip. Second-place finisher Triathelon returned to break his maiden as the favorite next out, while third-place finisher Q Got Hops, as noted above, ran well in his next outing. He’s never run this far before, but one of his siblings did win multiple times at a mile. #2 Boss Mode (3-1) is the only multiple winner in this field, having won at this condition two starts back with a big move from off the pace. He has solid sustained speed and will be rolling late if Sin Sin tires. #3 Tactics (6-5) broke his maiden from off of a very slow pace three starts back, and takes another class drop after finishing fifth against better in each of his last two tries.

RACE 7: ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS, 1 MILE

3-2-6-1

#3 Lundi Loot (4-1) ran a big race on the lead in his 3-year-old debut last out. He set a pressured pace, opened up a clear lead in the stretch, and held second to Let’s Go Lando, who returned to finish a big second in the Miracle Wood Stakes next out. #2 Hixon (4-1) chased Lundi Loot that day and flattened out to sixth. He’s worked well since that January 10 race and looks to recover his form from his maiden win two starts back, where he kicked away impressively at this distance. #6 Bala de Plata (8-5) hasn’t missed the board in seven career starts, including three wins. He may be sent for speed under Yedsit Hazlewood, who has the mount for the first time.

RACE 8: CLAIMING $12,500 (N/W2L), 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 MILE

5-1-4-2

#5 Hockey (9-5) broke her maiden going 1 1/16 miles on the Woodbine synthetic last year. She showed brief speed and faded in her first race off a nine-month break last out, but should improve with the race under her belt. #1 Sweet Honey Bee (9-2) has run very well in her last two starts, but both of those races were at six furlongs. If she can handle the extra distance, she’ll win. That’s far from a guarantee, however, especially considering that her only poor recent race was at seven furlongs. #4 Whatsyourbigidea (2-1) also ran a respectable race in her first race off a long layoff last out and gets Yedsit Hazlewood up for the first time.
