Cross Traffic to stand in Virginia in 2026

O’Sullivan Farms is thrilled to announce that Cross Traffic, sire of Eclipse Champion 2YO filly Jaywalk, will stand the 2026 breeding season at the historic Mt. Airy Farm in Millwood, Virginia.

Cross Traffic represents a rare opportunity for Mid-Atlantic breeders to access championship bloodlines while qualifying for lucrative Virginia Breeders Fund incentives—a powerful combination of quality and value that hasn’t been available in the Commonwealth in decades.

Named “Top Value Sire” in his stud fee range by Thoroughbred Daily News in 2024, Cross Traffic dominated as the #1 First Crop Sire across all metrics in 2018, including: Earnings, Winners, Black Type Winners (BTWs), Black Type Horses (BTHs), Graded Stakes Winners (GSWs), and Grade 1 Winners.

Cross Traffic has produced consistent performers at the highest levels:

  • JAYWALK ($1,668,500) – Eclipse Champion 2YO Filly, G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner
  • DEFINING PURPOSE ($845,388) – G1 winner
  • MAPLE LEAF MEL – Undefeated multiple graded stakes winner, one of 2023’s top fillies before her untimely passing
  • HERE MI SONG ($1,166,241) – Top-class sprinter
  • NEECIE MARIE ($1,154,688) – Elite turf performer
  • NY TRAFFIC ($1,003,840) – Multiple stakes winner

Cross Traffic is Unbridled’s Song’s fastest son at stud, earning a 116 Beyer Speed Figure when capturing the G1 Whitney Stakes at Saratoga. He’s out of multiple G1-winning sprinter Stop Traffic, combining speed, class, and durability.

“Cross Traffic brings proven class, a strong pedigree, and a record of producing sound, competitive runners,” said John Funkhouser of O’Sullivan Farms. “Virginia hasn’t seen a stallion of his caliber in decades. With the encouraging developments in Virginia racing and breeding recently, I’m excited to revitalize Virginia’s stallion program and provide regional breeders access to a proven, elite-level sire.”

Mt. Airy Farm, steeped in Thoroughbred history, neighbors the farm where G1 Kentucky Derby contender Forte was raised and once encompassed fields where the legendary Sir Archie, foundation sire of American Thoroughbreds, grew up.

Cross Traffic will stand the 2026 breeding season for $4,000 LFSN.
