Delaware Park picks and analysis: September 18, 2026
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:40 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 8
RACE 1: 6-9-1-4
The pace could be lively in this contest, which would benefit #6 Freedom Maker, who has the ability to close and isn’t far removed from efforts that win here… #9 Classic Joke might be part of the early running as he takes a big drop in class and exits a race that’s produced four next-out winners… #1 Gametime Gladiator gave an improved effort last out when back on a fast track…
RACE 2: 3-5-4-2
Blinkers on and a big dose of class relief should be what the doctor ordered for #3 Literary, who makes her second start off the claim… In a race light on early foot, you’d imagine the plan for #5 Breezy Dance is to send and hope for the best…
RACE 3: 5-4-8-1
Two turns and allowance foes were too much to handle last out for #5 I See You Lookin, but we’re inclined to forgive that one; can sit just off the pace and pounce when ready… #4 Inter Miami got cooked as part of a rapid early pace last out but ran better than it looks, finishing ahead of the others involved in the early action… Plenty of class relief here for #8 Curlins Cruzin…
RACE 4
If on dirt: 15-8-12-13
RACE 5: 6-1-3-9
#6 Styner could control the pace in this one in first after Simone reclaim; we suspect his connex wouldn’t mind if they caught a fast track for the first time in four starts but not sure the odds are very good of that… #1 Silent Roar ran a good one last out but had too much to do behind a dawdling pace; unsightly 2-for-33 ledger makes endorsing on top a dicey proposition, but he ought to get a piece of it… #3 Vance Scholars makes first start in Potts barn…
RACE 6
If on dirt: 6-1-3-9
RACE 7: 7-4-2-1
#7 Omaha Omaha was up against it in lastest at CNL in a slow-paced race in which the top pair ran one-two all the way around the track; could get a more contentious pace today and has better to run back to… If anybody takes ’em all the way, it’s likely #4 Happy Offering, who’s gotten very good for trainer Chuck Spina and just failed to hold in latest… #2 Very Volatile does the little girl with the little curl routine — when he’s good, he’s very good — and we’re inclined to forgive last couple, but what trip he gets is an interesting question, as he’s not as fast as some in here, and presumably stablemate Secret Zipper figures to be involved in the early running; he’s never really shown the ability to run into the pace, but that might be what he needs to do here…
RACE 8: 1-4-3-2
#1 Racquel Blue might be speed of the speed and looks likely to benefit from cutting back from six furlongs to 5 1/2… #4 All I Do is a three-time winner versus rivals who’ve won only twice and returns to a track at which she’s never been worse than third in three tries…
