Gary Capuano loaded for bear in Delaware juvy stakes
Trainer has morning line faves in Blue Hen, Dover Stakes

Trainer Gary Capuano will have a strong presence in Saturday’s pair of $75,000 juvenile stakes at Delaware Park, sending out four runners between the six-furlong Blue Hen Stakes for fillies and the six-furlong Dover Stakes for colts and geldings.
Capuano, who has won five Delaware Park stakes with 2-year-olds since 2023, will saddle Whitten Way and Martiniwithatwist in the Blue Hen and Seven’s Nitro and Lucky Siete in the Dover. All four were Delaware Certified at Marylyn Meadow in Middletown.

“We have been very fortunate the last couple of years to have some nice young horses,” Capuano said. “You never know with 2-year-olds… These horses are all training well coming into the races on Saturday, so knock on wood, as long as they stay good and healthy, all four have a high ceiling.”
Whitten Way enters the Blue Hen off a sharp 1 3/4-length debut victory at Delaware Park June 24. She was scratched from the Keswick Stakes over a muddy track at Colonial Downs Aug. 2.
“She has worked super and been developing nicely,” Capuano said. “We’re optimistic she’ll move forward after her maiden win.”
Stablemate Martiniwithatwist broke her maiden by 1 3/4 lengths July 31 after finishing second and third in her first two starts.
“It would be kind of a quick turnaround,” Capuano acknowledged. “But she is coming around nicely, she is doing well and she came out of her last race in great in shape.”
Whitten Way, the 9-5 morning line choice, will have Emanuel Rosario in the irons. Martiniwithatwist is 6-1 and will carry Cipriano Gil.
In the Dover, Seven’s Nitro looks to build on a six-length debut victory at Laurel Park.
“He’s a big, rangy horse,” Capuano said. “He’s not real fast coming out of the gate, but once he gets going, he rolls. I’m pretty excited to see what he can do moving forward.”
Rosario will also ride Seven’s Nitro, who is 9-5 on the morning line.
Lucky Siete enters off a 2 1/2-length maiden win at Delaware Park after rallying for third in his career debut.
“He came back and ran a super race to break his maiden,” Capuano said. “He’s coming into the race right where we want him to be.”
No rider is named. Lucky Siete is 5-1 on the morning line.
The Dover, with a field of six, is carded as the fourth race on the card. The Blue Hen has a field of nine and will go as race six.
