Delaware Park picks and analysis: May 28, 2026
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
- NUMBER OF RACES: 9
RACE 1: 7-4-1-3
#7 Yodel E. A. Who is not, after 90 career starts and at age 10, the horse he once was, but his best ought to be enough against this group, and he might get a good trip with some speed to aim at; Ness and Paco are 7-for-8 at DEL the last couple years… #4 Whiting Field enters in poor form and may not be good enough regardless but does project as the speed of the speed… #1 Collection Day got a good setup in latest, as the early pace fell completely apart, allowing him to rally from last to win, but he’s also a horse who’s shown the ability to be tactical, so Toledo should have options on him…
RACE 2: 3-1-5-2
#3 Luminous Secret has won two straight and looks to get a stalk-and-pounce type of trip pressing #1 Laughing Fit, who’ll hope to get the last laugh by stealing away on the front end in her first try in over two months…#5 Chacarera was second against similar in latest…
RACE 3: 1-6-5-7
#1 C C Girl most recently ran third in what might have been a sneaky good race at a similar level: two of three to run back won their follow-ups, and the other ran second… #6 Chili Bean easily beat two-life company in latest in a race that’s produced three next-out winners; trainer Carrasco wins at a 15% clip first off the claim… #5 Channel Loop was terrible last out but had run a couple of good ones prior…
RACING NOTES
Jockey Paco Lopez rattled off a natural hat trick mid-card, taking three straight races, all at 1.10-1 or less… Might want to keep an eye on Intrepids Fantasy: the Gary Capuano trainee, a full to two stakes winners, made a favorable impression in winning a two-turn maiden event Wednesday to graduate at first asking under bug boy Emanuel Rosario…
RACE 4: Off the turf
10-11-2-4
#10 Pure Octane is a Liam’s Map colt set to debut for Mac Robertson, and he’s been training well enough and gets red-hot Paco Lopez up; this one’s a half to two stakes winners… Tough beat in latest for #11 Beale Street Boy, who won’t likely be on the lead here… #2 Love Yourself may well be on the lead after showing good speed sprinting when second three straight at Laurel, though the added ground is a question mark…
RACE 5: 8-5-6-3
#8 Wood Lily is the most lightly raced of the bunch in this two-life claimer, might be the speediest of the speed, and enters in good form having finished in the triple three straight, including a last out maiden score… #5 Sweet Summer Love has a couple of decent tries in her past, including her last at DEL last year when second against better; outmatched in latest, she drops down to a manageable level for her second of the year, and a return to earlier form would put her in the mix… #6 Stylish Gem showed little in latest in her first try against older runners, but that was on the turf; prior dirt form should fit…
RACE 6: Off the turf
4-8-1-11
#4 The Beach Goes On returned from over a year away to destroy a two-life starter field, and it’s worth noting both of her dirt tries are good; back in ’24, she ran third in a maiden event won by Paradise City, who’s now graded stakes-placed… #8 Thirst for Hope ran fourth last out coming off the bench in a second-level allowance, and she should appreciate a bit of class relief here… #1 Fabia is MTO and has some decent tries on the page…
RACE 7: 7-3-6-5
#7 Ball of Fire just missed against Tampa allowance foes two back and just didn’t seem to have it last out, possibly a result of being closer early to a faster pace; not much pace in here should allow him to sit close enought without over-exerting himself as long as rider Hernandez can avoid getting hung out wide in the first turn… #3 Impressiveness is the field’s only three-time winner… #6 Ice Shot graduated at Aqueduct before running fourth at Keeneland…
RACE 8: Off the turf
12-4-1-9
#12 Wyoming Class is entered for main track only and arrives off a useful season bow when third in Laurel allowance company; note the five works since that race… #4 Academy destroyed local maidens in an off-the-turf tilt a year ago but had no answers in his most recent at Keeneland; gets class relief here but we’re not sure another 90 Beyer fig is in the offing… #1 El Tinmarin might get an off track and is 1-for-1 on them…
RACE 9: 4-5-6-1
First-time starter #4 Adios Senoritas has been training well enough for trainer Ness, who has won at a 26% clip first out the last two years; this one’s half-sibling won on debut, and sire Barbados’ offspring win 17% first out… #5 Rio Oso surprised when running second last out at 46-1, and trainer Deiter off to a good start locally… #6 Izzy’s Rock Star isn’t, but did run third last out in a Parx contest from which the top four to run back have all finished in the triple…
