RACE 1: 1-4-2-8

#1 Always Forward jumped up to run a big one two back when beating $8,000 claimers; anything like that wins here today… #4 Missy Boss looks like controlling speed and attracts JRod in the irons but has been away more than two months…

RACE 2: 8-7-3-1

Start with a horse we didn’t use: #6 True Phenomenon was a better horse than these when last seen, winning a state-restriced allowance at PRX and then going off in an open allowance at 3-1, but all that was more than a year ago, the hard-hitting Ness barn doesn’t have a great record bringing horses back off long layoffs, and the worktab (including a mile move and two six-furlong works) feels like it’s targeted at longer races; we’re leaving her off the ticket for these reasons, but be aware she could easily beat you if you follow suit… #8 Racquel Blue is speed of the speed and arrives off an easy win in two-life company; Robertson barn having a strong meet and puts this one in a spot where she can keep it rolling… Not really sure what went wrong last out for #7 Bertie’s Cause — she was outside the winner early but didn’t go on with it — but prior form good enough…

RACE 3: 2-4-5-1

The mile trip is the big wild card in this two-year-old maiden event, as none of these has been past six furlongs on dirt… One whose pedigree isn’t ideal for added ground but ran too well first out to ignore is #2 Williston Wizard, who really never could find a comfortable spot but was willing to the wire when third… #4 Westbound Cat showed little on debut two-plus months ago, but the worktab since makes you wonder if they’ve been targeting longer races since then; the Capuano barn can win off the bench, and they like this one enough to waive the claiming tag…

RACE 4: 2-5-1-3

Has #1 Federal Exchange at long last figured this game out? We’ll take a wait-and-see approach with him, keeping him on the ticket but not in the top slot; after going winless for 3 1/2 years (!), he’s been first past the post twice (once in a race declared no contest) and last out earned a career-best Beyer fig of 72; if that’s the new norm, he wins here… We’ll swing against, though, with #2 Megan’s Honor for a Simone barn having a good meet; this one keeps running decent races, and one from his latest came back to win next out…

RACE 6: 1-6-3-5

#1 Risk Factor arrives in good form and makes his first start since the Castillo claim; look for JRod to be hustling out of the gate… #6 Leonids finished up ’25 in good form, and while his two starts this season aren’t much, perhaps here, in his third off the bench, first in a new barn, and dropping to more appropriate company, he can find that form again… #3 Laddie Dance arrives in good form…

RACE 7: 5-7-3-4

#5 Objection graduated nicely last out in a race tougher than you might expect for an off-the-turf event, as two of his beaten rivals graduated next out; bred to be a racehorse, and his half-sib is Grade 3-placed… #7 Street Party hasn’t been great since the claim, but there’s some talent in there, and trainer Pino’s record suggests he’ll find it; maybe here? Boy, #3 Prodigious ran a game race last out, winning a lengthy duel before being unable to contain the 4-5 favorite…

RACE 8: 7-3-2-4

In this dirt maiden, the two shortest odds on the morning line have a combined total of zero main-track starts, so let’s see if we can beat ’em (though we will use favored #4 Montserrat Boom underneath)… #7 Mom Estarina was dead game last out in a race in which she never got a break and ran on the wrong lead late; seems headed in the right direction… #3 Key Witness makes her second start off the bench… #2 G G’s Treasure flashed speed against better on debut…
