Race #1 Picks: 3-5-6-1

In this allowance/optional claiming race for N4L at 6 furlongs, #3 Quick Tempo (9-5) was competitive in stakes races over the summer. He tried to run with the eventual winner in the Lite the Fuse Stakes in last but was no match and wore down. Now moving back down to a level where he has been successful in the past and looks like the best of this bunch. #5 Defend (5-2) is three-for-three on the Delaware dirt. Didn’t like the turf and is now moving back to the dirt and dropping in class. He fits very well here. #6 Gran Runner (4-1) may have been in a little over his head in last. Now getting the top jockey and moving down to a level where he was competitive before. #4 Chief Ron (5-1) has all three of his wins at Delaware Park, and he runs his best races here.

Race #7 Picks: 12-5-1-8

Race #8 Picks: 3-5-8-6

In this $20,000 claiming race for three-year-old fillies and for older fillies and mares that have never won two at 6 furlongs, #3 Joe Mike Jim (4-1) is dropping to a level where she should be able to defeat this group. She had some trouble in a number of her recent starts, but with a good trip we think she will be on top today. #5 Murumbi (5-1) has been running well and just missed in a $30,000 claiming race at Monmouth in last. If she repeats that race, she will be right in the mix. #8 Rosy Apple (3-1) won her last two and has won 3 of 4 at Delaware Park. Trainer Jose Ramirez has zero wins on first after a claim, which is a concern. #6 Gorman (6-1) Is coming back from a 4-month layoff but has some back class.
