RACE NUMBERCONTENDERSCOMMENTS
Race 74-7-3-1We don’t guess you’ll get the morning line on him, but #4 Ruffy (8-1) has been competing versus better, having finished in the triple four straight in special weight company before taking the step down here to maiden claimers. He gets top pilot Kendrick Carmouche in the irons, makes his second start off a two-month break, and with the drop into easier company, it feels like all systems are go… #7 Kodapendent (3-1) finished third against similar last out after getting away slowly and is showing a pretty good work in the meantime…. #3 Lindros (7-2) has shown speed but hasn’t been able to carry it versus better. The Cal Lynch trainee, a $170k auction purchase, should appreciate the easier company… #1 The Great Gazoo (5-2) showed speed and tired going farther against better his last two. Is 11 the charm?
Race 94-6-2-1There looks to be a decent amount of speed signed on in this second-level allowance/optional claiming sprint. That’s good news for #4 Mojovation (7-2). The Jamie Ness trainee won nicely last out versus similar at Laurel and figures to be one of just a couple running at the end… The speedy #6 Word On a Wing (6-1) may just not be the horse he was in mid-2020 anymore; back then he ripped off four wins in five starts (and was DQed from the fifth) with big speed figs. But he only raced three times in ’21, and this will be his seasonal bow. He’s been facing better, and if he is going to rediscover that good form, the drop into an easier group might be the ticket… #2 The Sicarii (5-1) beat similar four back and is another who could benefit if the pace heats up… #1 Breezy Gust (9-5) figures to be part of the early pace and arrives off a win versus lesser at Penn National. He won at this level last March…
