But we’ll try to beat him with a mild upset from #3 Fortheluvofbourbon (5-2). The Michael Pino trainee won two straight after joining the barn before finishing third last out. But that was his first in nearly nine months, and there’s every reason to think he’ll be fitter and sharper today… #4 Violent Turbulence (8-1) had an improved try last out against similar and would benefit here from getting back on a fast track. He’ll make his second try off nearly two months away… #1 Shanghai Superfly (3-1) was second last out against similar and comes out of the always dangerous Ness barn… |
| Race 10 | 5-6-1-4 | Here’s a price we can get behind: top choice #5 Irish Cork (6-1) loves Parx, loves the 1 mile 70 yard trip, and rates a big shot in here. The John Servis trainee has never been worse than third in a dozen starts at the track and owns three wins in five tries at the trip. He got throttled last out in a minor stake in New York going 1 3/8 miles. That was back in April, and Servis gives him plenty of time to decompress; he shortens back to his preferred distance and the five-furlong move June 2 suggests he’s ready… #6 Magic Michael (6-5) is a deserving favorite in here off two straight easy wins while moving up the class ladder… #1 Lookin At Roses (3-1) also arrives with two straight wins but may have work to do late here… #4 Deal Driven (6-1) defeated similar two back and makes his second start off a freshening… |
