Delaware Park has an eight-race card lined up today. Some horses to watch:

Race 8 – Allowance

  • Fillies and mares three years old and up will go 1 1/16 miles on the turf in a first-level allowance.
  • Today’s race is slated to be just the third of the year — and fifth of her career — for #6 Jost Sayin (6-1). The four-year-old Big Drama filly galloped last time out to break her maiden in a race taken off the turf and run on the main track. She made two starts as a two-year-old and then was off from November 2017 to last month, when she ran fourth in a grassy maiden claimer before graduating. She’s back on the turf today, is a half-sister turf stakes winner Josdesanimaux, and certainly owns the right to improve. Trainer Joe Arbortianza will leg up Ricardo Chiappe.
  • As a two-year-old, #9 Yes to the Dress (5-1) flashed some talent, breaking her maiden by four lengths at Delaware and then romping in the Jamestown Stakes (for Virginia-breds) at Laurel; in fact, she was a nose from a hat trick after suffering a tough beat in an allowance at the Fair Grounds. But it’s been tough sledding since for the Horacio DePaz trainee, who’s made just three starts, one in 2019. Her only start this year came June 15, when she was an even fourth, beaten a couple of lengths. Today will mark the first time since her two-year-old season that this Congrats filly has had the chance to race twice in succession, and after a decent return to action last out, she has some upside today. Trevor McCarthy will ride.
  • Selections: 9-6-4-3
