YESTERDAY’S NEWS: Shippers take Delaware Park features

Shippers took the biggest purses at Delaware Park Monday afternoon, taking a pair of allowance tests.

In race seven, a $36,000 allowance on the turf, horses trained by Christophe Clement ran one-two.  Blame It On Me, a three-year-old Blame filly ridden by Alex Cintron, closed from last to win by a head over stablemate Amnicalola with Martini Glass another three lengths back in third.  Blame It On Me, owned by Lee Ann Ingram and Orrin H. Ingram, II, now has two wins from four starts and earnings of $37,550.

One race later, in a $36,000 allowance on the main track, Warrior Call, trained by Keith Nations for Stony Brook Stables, teamed up with jockey Trevor McCarthy to win by a half-length and pay $27.60 in the process. Grandpa Len was second, with favored Comic Bird in third.  It was one of two wins for McCarthy on the day.  Warrior Call now has two wins from 10 starts and $75,770 in earnings.
