The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that The Chainsmokers, one of the most popular DJ and producer duos in the world known for their hit singles “Roses” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” will headline the 2016 Preakness Budweiser InfieldFest Concert Saturday, May 21 at Pimlico Race Course.

Joining The Chainsmokers as their special guest will be Fetty Wap, whose self-titled studio debut last fall was No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 album chart and single “Trap Queen” was No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The platinum-selling band with Baltimore/Maryland origins have had three top five albums in Billboard’s 200 album chart including Future Hearts last year. All Time Low will be supported by Chris Janson and Corey Smith.

The Budweiser InfieldFest at the Preakness will be held during the 141st Preakness, the middle jewel of Thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown.

Tickets for this year’s Budweiser InfieldFest at the Preakness are available through Ticketfly.

The Chainsmokers’ explosive hit single “Roses,” featuring vocals by Rozes, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, Top 5 at Pop Radio, and climbed to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 while quickly approaching Double Platinum certification. Follow-up single “Don’t Let Me Down,” featuring vocals from rising star Daya, is poised to follow suit having already accumulated 40 Million total Spotify streams and 12.5 Million video views. The Chainsmokers (Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall) first surfaced in 2014 with their viral hit “#SELFIE,” which became a global hit with its official music video, accumulating over 415 million views while hitting No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance / Electronic chart and selling over 10 million copies.

The Chainsmokers and Fetty Wap continue InfieldFest’s history of attracting top performers for its concert series on the day of the historic Preakness Stakes. InfieldFest has showcased many of music’s biggest stars, including Armin van Buuren (2015), Lorde, NAS and Little Big Town (2014), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pitbull and Florida Georgia Line (2013), Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa (2012), Bruno Mars and Train (2011), Zac Brown, O.A.R. (2010), and Buckcherry and ZZ Top (2009).

“We are extremely excited to play host to such a wonderful group of artists from such a wide array of genres at this year’s Budweiser InfieldFest at the Preakness,” said Maryland Jockey Club President and General Manager Sal Sinatra. “We continue to draw an incredibly diverse crowd of artists and fans to one of the most historic sporting events in North America. Preakness Week at Pimlico is very special, and we’re hoping everyone can join us for what promises to be an exciting week.”

Renowned independent promotion and production company I.M.P., which owns the 9:30 Club, and operates Merriweather Post Pavilion and the Lincoln Theatre, has booked and produced the InfieldFest main stage since its 2009 inception.  Glow Washington DC, which operates out of Echostage in Washington, D.C., joins as co-promoter in 2016.
