Off to the Races on The Racing Biz Radio Network returns to talk horse racing Saturday, Marcy 4 for its fourth show of the 2017 season — and once again it will feature some of the most interesting voices in mid-Atlantic racing and breeding.

Young jockey Trevor McCarthy will be on early in the program to discuss his upcoming ride aboard El Areeb in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes, with a potential Kentucky Derby bid in the offing.

The one-hour program will air at 10:00 a.m. each Saturday on Richmond’s ESPN 950 AM.  Additional stations will be announced as they come online.

The show will focus on Thoroughbred racing and breeding around the mid-Atlantic region and across the country.

In addition to McCarthy, guests will include Justin Nicholson, to talk about the forthcoming Equestricon convention this summer, and trainer Kieron Magee. Magee, who claimed more horses than any other trainer in the region in 2016, currently is second on the Laurel Park trainers’ list by wins and third in the region by claims.

As always, Derby Bill Watson will provide his handicapping acumen, focusing Saturday on the Gotham and on the mega-card from Gulfstream Park.

Guests in prior weeks have included trainers Cal Lynch (El Areeb) and Graham Motion (Irish War Cry), as well as Maryland Jockey Club president Sal Sinatra, Virginia Equine Alliance president Debbie Easter, and others.

“We’re looking forward to talking with Trevor McCarthy about his experiences so far on the Triple Crown trail,” said Frank Vespe, owner-publisher of The Racing Biz and host of the show, “as well as lively discussions with Kieron Magee, Justin Nicholson, and of course, Derby Bill.”
