Check out our other handicapping here!

RACE 1: CLAIMING $5,000 (CONDITIONED), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 1 MILE

  1. #7 – Rapidity (3-1): Ran well in his last two starts at Delaware Park and has shown early speed in the past; in a race without much speed on paper, an aggressive ride could get him the win.
  2. #5 – Sin Permiso (4-1): Rallied very wide and grabbed second last out at Charles Town.
  3. #1 – Vance Scholars (4-1): Classy veteran is looking for a field he can still beat.

RACE 2: MAIDEN CLAIMING $12,500, 3-6 YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 MILE

  1. #5 – Kinda Krazy (7-5): Ran big speed figures in her last two at Colonial Downs, but lost as the big favorite both times.
  2. #3 – Ashwee (6-5): Finished second, ahead of Kinda Krazy, last out; she opened a big lead in the stretch and got caught.
  3. #6 – Ladsfirstlove (9-2): Went off favored on opening day, but lost the jockey at the start.

RACE 3: CLAIMING $5,000 (N/W2L), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 6 1/2 FURLONGS

  1. #4 – Mendelssohn Ad (6-1): Led all the way to break her maiden on the opening day card; she’s the only one in the field without a loss against winners.
  2. #3 – Fortune Garden (6-1): Didn’t do anything last out, but showed promise with a two-back win at Charles Town.
  3. #6 – Missy’s Map (3-1): Has tailed off from her best form, and will try to wake up with a barn change and the removal of blinkers.

RACE 4: STARTER OPTIONAL CLAIMING $25,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 1 MILE

  1. #1 – Night of Magic (4-1): Battled for the lead and held second last out at Colonial; the winner, Master Schemer, came back to beat conditioned claimers next out.
  2. #6 – Magnificent Rags (5-1): Has the best closing kick in the field and should be heard from late.
  3. #5 – Play It Cool (5-2): Even though this is his first start since May, his early speed should be dangerous nonetheless.

RACE 5: ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 MILE

  1. #4 – Ecliptical Gina (4-1): Raced on the pace and won two stats at Penn National, followed by a second-place effort behind a loose gate-to-wire winner next out.
  2. #1 – Audibly (9-5): Her complete lack of early speed is her Achilles heel, and she’s bound to take a lot of money.
  3. #3 – Queen in the Deck (20-1): Should sit close to the pace and hang around for a share at a good price.

RACE 6: STARTER OPTIONAL CLAIMING $20,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 6 1/2 FURLONGS

  1. #2 – Daddy Yankee (5-2): Ran a big third against a very tough group at Colonial last out; the winner, Kerness K, has won nine times on the season.
  2. #5 – Cybertime (7-5): He’s gotten better with each start since coming off an 11-month layoff in mid-June.
  3. #6 – Dean Delivers (3-1): Another accomplished veteran looking for a spark of his youth against a softer field than he’s used to.

RACE 7: STARTER OPTIONAL CLAIMING $30,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 4 FURLONGS

  1. #2 – Kosher Cowboy (3-5): As long as he breaks well, no one will be able to catch him.
  2. #4 – Artillery Gunnar (8-1): Sat a good trip off the pace and won two starts back at Laurel Park.
  3. #1 – Elvis Himself (6-1): Don’t know if he can outrun Kosher Cowboy from his inside, but he’s run OK from off the pace in the past.

RACE 8: MAIDEN CLAIMING $25,000, 2-YEAR-OLDS, 4 FURLONGS

  1. #2 – Metallican (2-1): Has a string of bullet workouts at Delaware for Jamie Ness as he prepares for his debut.
  2. #3 – Budthegreatone (5-2): Any Anthony Farrior-trained 2-year-old here is dangerous; watch the board.
  3. #1 – His Friesan Fire (7-2): Whichever half of the John Salzman-trained coupled entry will be tough.
