Delaware Park picks and analysis: July 31, 2026

  • CARRYOVERS: None
  • POST TIME: 12:20 P.M.
  • NUMBER OF RACES: 8

RACE 1: 2-1-3-6

#2 Befuddled makes her career bow in this spot, and it’s interesting that trainer Farrior started this miss at Charles Town back in May before moving her to his Laurel operation, where she’s thrown down some fast works; this daughter of popular sire Bolt d’Oro is from the female family of multiple Grade 1 turfer Get Stormy… #1 Martiniwithatwist ran very well when second on debut in a race that’s produced two next-out winners but had no answers last out for winning stablemate after troubled trip; draws rail for third straight time… #3 My Hometown Gal didn’t show a ton in her debut, but connex liked her enough to ship up to the Big A; shows two works since…

RACE 2: 8-5-2-4

#8 Uniqueness gave an improved effort last out in his second start and gets blinkers on today… #5 Strong Suspicion makes his bow for trainer Ashby (20% with a positive ROI with first-time-starting 2yos in maiden claiming company; half to a stakes winner who won on debut… #2 Chasing Chad is a half to a first out winner and seems to have outworked some others in Allard’s barn…

RACE 3: 5-2-4-1

#5 Float On was up against it last time out when drawn inside with speed on either side, but he should get a better trip here outside the other speed players in a race where he might actually be fastest regardless… #2 Megan’s Honor’s last couple aren’t great, but she drops into a spot at which she’s been competitive previously… #4 Guaio has some decent outings in his not-too-distant past…

RACE 4: 2-5-7-9

#2 I Got Street Sense has been working speedily, including several from the gate, for a trainer who can win first out… #5 Road Cat has run two decent races to date… #7 Indian Pharoah is a son of Triple Crown hero American Pharoah out of a good female family; trainer Motion’s runners most often need a race or two to hit their stride…

RACE 5: 1-4-3-5

#1 Luminous Secret has faced better since the Mendieta claim and hasn’t run badly; loomed nearing the quarter pole in latest but could not go on while on the wrong lead… #4 Skip Thru Da Fire makes her second start since the Corrales claim-back; like that Corrales keeps her at this level rather than dropping further despite poor outing in first back in the barn… #3 Miti Fast Flower seemed to be done last out mid-race but rallied some in the lane and always runs her race, but she may not have the upside of others…

RACE 6: 8-3-4-2

#8 Let’er Sizzle might have gotten a little discouraged chasing inside the 2-5 winner in latest but still gave an improved account of herself; drawn better outside today… #3 Hugs for Aries led for a half-mile against $16,000 boys last time out, should be all by her lonesome early in this contest… #4 I’mamaterialgirl ran on for second last out while never a threat to the winner…

RACE 7

If on turf: 8-9-2-3

If on dirt: 4-7-5-6

RACE 8: 2-3-7-1

#2 Amberjack has a ton of early speed and exits a race that’s produced two next-out winners; second off the bench and second in hard-hitting Delgado barn… #3 Stampede is a well-bred 3yo making his career debut for solid trainer Perkins… #7 Scrutinator was a $375,000 yearling once upon a time, now shifting into the Brittany Russell barn; Russell wins at a 25% clip with maidens making their first start in her barn…
