Seven-pound apprentice Jose Vargas enjoyed a productive couple of days of Laurel racing, winning five times — including three on Friday — to lead all riders… Five-pound bug Yedsit Hazlewood won four, while Carlos Lopez and Angel Cruz won two each… 10 riders won at least once during the two days of the abbreviated race week… Hazlewood has opened a big lead in wins with 43, more than double the 19 of Angel Cruz, who is second… Vargas, Jevian Toledo, and Martin Chuan have 13 apiece… Cruz leads all riders with 3.38 added wins… Vargas (2.86), Hazlewood (2.48), and Andres Chavez (2.45) are the next three… Added wins compares a rider’s actual wins to the number of wins the odds would have predicted, with a positive total meaning the rider had won more races than the odds of his or her mounts suggest… The range of all riders is 3.38 to (-3.97)…
