The afternoon’s featured third-level allowance optional claimer produced the biggest surprise when Bump N Run prevailed by a neck over heavy favorite Prince of Jericho in the six-furlong allowance optional claiming contest. Bump N Run ($43.60) pressed the pace under Angel Cruz, dueled through the stretch and edged clear late to score a determined neck victory for trainer Timothy Shaw. Prince of Jericho, off at 3-5, has now been second by less than a length in four consecutive starts.

Earlier in the sequence of higher-purse races, Crab Daddy ($7.20) captured the Race 5 allowance optional claiming event at seven furlongs. Jose Vargas guided the Linda Albert trainee from off the pace, angling out at the top of the stretch before overtaking Rampagius inside the sixteenth pole to drive clear by 1½ lengths. It was the second win of the day for Vargas.

Crab Daddy, who won the 2024 Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes at second asking but then lost 14 consecutive races, has won two in a row.

In Race 6, Ms Notion ($6.20) delivered a strong performance in a six-furlong allowance for fillies and mares. With Forest Boyce aboard for trainer Phillip Capuano, the Great Notion filly pressed the pace three wide, took command entering the lane, and drew away under urging to defeat Greek Heiress by 2½ lengths.

The allowance in Race 8 went to Prado Road ($4.60), who scored convincingly for trainer Brittany Russell with Sheldon Russell in the irons. Prado Road took over at the top of the stretch and gradually widened his advantage to win by three lengths. Race 9 followed with Love You More ($4.60), ridden by J.G. Torrealba for trainer Horacio De Paz, who showed speed throughout and maintained a clear edge through the lane.

The card also included a milestone earlier in the day when Mugatu ($9.40) captured the opener for trainer Daniel Eubanks, giving him the first victory of his training career. Ridden by Carlos Lopez, Mugatu circled the field three wide on the far turn before drawing clear in the stretch to kick off the afternoon’s racing.
