Laurel Park spikes weekend cards, moves two

Due to frigid temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic region, Laurel Park canceled the remainder of Friday’s card after the first race.

Weekend Wife ($9.80) captured the opening event for jockey Andres Chavez and trainer Tim Keefe.

Laurel Park has also postponed Saturday and Sunday’s scheduled live racing programs due to the weather conditions.

Saturday’s ten-race program, highlighted by the $100,000 Spectacular Bid Stakes for 3-year-olds and the $100,000 Xtra Heat Stakes for 3-year-old fillies, has been moved to Wednesday, February 4.

Sunday’s nine-race program has been moved to Thursday, February 5.

Laurel Park will run a Wednesday through Sunday schedule next week. The first post time is 12:00 pm ET.

Laurel Park and the Maryland Jockey Club OTB network remain open for simulcast wagering.
